He’ll be fine… He took multivariate this semester and they covered stuff my professor didn’t ![]()
You gotta transfer to CCAC if you want the good math.
The credits all transfer, no probs with matriculation or what ever.
Look at definition 3. Agreed on the rest.
This is something else that pisses me off. Some online dictionaries are now starting to consider them synonyms, and they are not. This is because if enough people are ignorant and stay that way long enough, misuse becomes acceptable use in the English language. America, I’m looking directly at you here. And I am a qualified copy editor, so I’m technically a professional in this field.
Man, all I can say is that’s how language evolves. Technically we are speaking the same language as a middle English speaker, but I’ll be damned if we would fail at actually understanding what each other is saying.
I’m a stickler for proper use of words almost as much as you, but little shit like podium and lectern aren’t at the top of my shit list in terms of language…
Lectern is a pet peeve. It’s usually some superior prick misusing the word when I hear it, so it sets me off.
Do you mean that some dictionaries consider them synonyms? I’m not sure who considers lectern and podium to be antonyms.
Yes, synonyms. Geez. That’s what happens wen I haven’t had coffee, I say something stupid.
Be that as it may, and irregardless of its formal definition
Nucyaler.
I love this word. When used appropriately, it’s the conclusion to a conversation. Unlike regardless, which just dismisses information, but does not end the conversation.
This. And confusing “borrow” with “lend”.
I hate the good idea fairy, with a passion.
Maybe because I work with mostly type A personalities, but every time someone tries to do something, that bitch starts whispering in everyone’s ear and suddenly everybody has a better idea on how to do it.
If Bob is going to take the initiative to do something and he has a plan that is: safe, simple enough, and will probably work, just shut the fuck up and either ask what you can do to help, or stay the fuck out of his way.
And for the record, I’m usually not Bob, I’m the asshole who has to hurt feelings and tell everyone to keep their suggestions to themselves so Bob can get things done.
I get pissed off when a long-time Sales Director pretends to be surprised and then acts upset when he finds out that building 1 make-to-order assembly will have a higher per-unit cost than building 7 of the same assemblies did last year.
Just admit you screwed up and quoted a BS price to a customer without thinking the scenario through. There’s no amount of huffing and puffing that will reduce the setup costs that are the same whether you make 1 or 1,000. This is not hidden knowledge we’re talking about here.
My fucking ADT system went haywire at 3:30 in the morning with no reason code. Glad I got 3 hours of sleep…
There was a sales guy that used to do that when I worked with these little modular/robotic systems.
What really pissed me off though was that not only did he expect me to steal the parts from inventory and whip up a custom application to ship by end of day, but he’d also act like I was an asshole for not doing it.
This is all sheet metal working setup costs, which I’m sure you’re familiar with.
Looking for a job as a Sales Director?
If he can do it… ![]()
I’m not too good at that. I’m really just the guy on the floor.
Speaking of metal work; found out at 3:00 am that a guy in the cut shop (who also goes to the vessel building) is really sick with the 'Rona. He’s been all over the office, cut shop, vessel shop, fab, whatever.
What PISSES ME OFF: his wife came down with it a week ago. He was supposed to quarantine. He tested POSITIVE. But, he didn’t feel bad until yesterday, so the asshole came to work for 5 days – and we only found out about it because his daughter answered the phone when we called to figure out where he was – and she spilled the beans.
WHAT A FUCKING ASSHOLE. Made a lot of calls. Employees, wives, kids, coming to get tested. Vendors getting tested. Vendor’s spouses getting tested. Engineers from oil companies getting tested.
Called a cleaning service. Paying $30K for dudes in space suits to spray shit down.
Line shut down.
Got a Q-tip jammed so far up my nose, I am pretty sure it came out my ear.
The only bright thing was a dude from the Texas version of the CDC who said that because the shops are open and bright (with a lot of Sun and wind) transmission is unlikely except in the office and break room.
I am 100% a freedom guy, but freedom comes with personal responsibility – like not coming to work knowing you are sick and exposing the fucking world.
Already calling the lawyers to make sure I can fire this asshole. Also want to figure out if I can press some sort of criminal charges — it’s against the law to not tell someone you have sex with that you have a VD. I don’t know why this is any different.
@SkyzS – today I said the only people dumber than painters are welders. I apologize to you as the exception to the rule.
Oh, and he borrowed a guy’s mask Sunday.
That battle has raged since the dawn of time. Possibly even longer.

It really sucks about that outbreak. People don’t seem to realize how far and wide these simple actions can affect other people.
Just speculating, but the guy knowingly brought a biological contaminant into the workplace and exposed, at minimum, the entire shift.
That sounds pretty fireable to me!
Hoping for a best possible outcome for you and the crew.
