I’m ready to switch over to my summer smugness that I live where it’s cool and pleasant almost all the time, with hoodies generally required for nighttime bonfires. I want to feel superior to my hot, sweaty out-of-state friends. Is that so wrong?

My son, like a lot of boys, likes robots. I put on Astro Boy and sure enough he now loves Astro Boy. His birthday is coming up and he would like an Astro Boy.
I jump on the interwebs to see what’s available and holy shit, a $2 piece of plastic can sure get valuable! All I have to say is don’t allow your kids to get into stuff they no longer manufacture toys for.
Last week we got a foot of snow, power lines down, trees down in our driveway. two days later it was 55 and not a lick of snow. Weather is bipolar here in maine.

Oooh…yeah. It costs a lot to live in the land of fruits and nuts.
I always thought the tax was worth it. I’ve lived in places with low taxes that I would have paid a LARGE amount of money to either make better or GTFO of.

I married my hockey guy, and it’s been pretty nice.

The Subaru blew a piston and is no more. I married an alpha and put down some roots. Mainers keep to themselves so the pandemic hasn’t hit us too hard. I work at the biggest hospital in central Maine and I can count the number of cases the on one hand. Life is good I can’t complain
Conspiracy theory videos. I wish people understood how easy it is to manipulate data (and people) to “prove” a point. COVID-19 gives every nutjob a reason to come out from under their rock and pitch some far-fetched misinformation theory that’s gonna get people killed.
Just remember kids, everything you see on the internet that supports your beliefs absolutely has to be true.

Not me, but Mrs. Jewbacca is practically on fire about New York taxing authorities.
Specifically, she had a colleague who took her accumulated paid vacation and went and volunteered for a month at a Covid hospital in NYC.
Said unpaid volunteer— who by the way now has Covid— was informed that her wages from vacation pay in Florida were going to be subject to NY state and NYC income tax because she exceeded a three week stay.
Apparently this is happening to all the volunteers who took time off and the NYS officials have said (direct quote) “we don’t have the money to subsidize you”.
So, the takeaway is, next time NYC has a problem, fuck then.
