Things That Piss You Off

This was my buddy. He was having a hard time and it got the best of him. Still feels like I got kicked in the chest.

Read the obituary and he seems to have lived a good life and had many people who loved him (something not a whole lot of people can say). I’m sorry for your loss. We never want the good guys to go that soon.

He did.

I encourage anybody that feels they may do something to harm themselves to speak up, ask for help, go to the ER. What ever you have to do.

My thing is I know I’ll get through most of the pain… but Is the process worth it. I doubt I’d do it, but I’ve definitely researched it and thought about it. My deepest darkest fears are here. Never thought I’d face them.

Have a meeting on the 27th. I had talked with my supervisor about having the material for it ready this coming Monday afternoon.

Yesterday, he tells me to have it ready by Friday. I work late, start early to give me a chance to get it done on Friday.

At midday, he comes up to my desk and says everything needs to be ready by 2PM… And that he is going to lunch… and that he is going straight home afterwards.

I ended up getting this shit out at 330.

I’d like to thank my boss for pushing me to do this and to get out stuff early that no one will read over the next 10 days - cunt.

I now wait the inevitable discussion on Monday that there are some problems with the material and why the other work I was planning to do is now late

When the pizza I ordered is lukewarm or messed up in some other way. Hate that.

The guy who was singing along with his rap music today at the gym. Random mumble sentence fragments. :man_facepalming:

It should beer illegal to assault other people’s senses with that crap.

Sweet Jesus, it’s a gas pedal not a light switch. You can give the car a bit of constant throttle to maintain speed.

Were you out there listening when I was learning to plow with the 4X4 this afternoon? In my defense, let me just say that the thing is jumpy and it startles me. ā€œConstant throttleā€ is easier said than done.

That’s not me, obviously. (I hope obviously.)

Ughgh… Those douchebags are annoying. Usually ditty bopping too.

While we’re listing things that should be classified as assault, let me add ā€œexcessive cologne/perfumeā€

Like, if I can get charged with assault by yelling at someone, it should be considered assault if you wear so much cologne/perfume that it causes nearby people to gag. How it’s NOT a crime blows my mind.

I think the key for us is to find a way to address it without committing a crime. So far I don’t have a solution…

As a cop, I have no room for error. We had a Captain who pushed a referee at a basketball game. It was a rough game and the refs sucked. His 10 yr old son got hurt (broken arm) and he ran onto the court. The ref blew the whistle in his face and he reacted by pushing her back.

Everything settled down like it should and nothing was going to come of it…until they figured out he was a police Captain (this was in a small town). He ended up getting charged with battery and lost his job over the deal. Stupid.

The ref was the daughter of a former small town cop (my home town). He got fired eventually but not soon enough. He caught himself having sex with a teenage girl on the hood of his car. The dash cam goes back 30 sec to 2 minutes depending on the settings. He used his lights and siren to go to a call soon after finishing and recorded the evidence. They made him the high school resource officer. Makes sense.

I never want cops to get special treatment but I find we’re treated worse than the average citizen when we screw up. Well, most of the time. It seems to be dependent on the public knowing. If everyone knows then you’re screwed. If it’s an internal matter then you can survive.

I’m a p.o. too. People want a higher standard for us; as is to be expected and is fair for the most part, but really love to shit on us in any given situation where they can get all sanctimonious and feel superior or project their failings. It’s truly a very annoying phenomenon. It will only lead to police really backing off as fear of being crucified or fired to appease the psychotic loons with the fattest mouths.

@Frank_C

IMO, Police officers, firemen and ambulance drivers in the US are paid at least 10x less than what they deserve- especially with the opioid/suicide epidemic going on

Do you guys at least get some form of free health care??

Not free. It’s deducted.

No. I have good healthcare but it’s not free. I get three free mental health sessions before I’m referred to someone else, though!

@marine77, I don’t want special treatment in either direction. I don’t want to get away with shit because I’m a cop but I don’t want special attention, either.

I had a co-worker get arrested for rape. Let that sink in. F-ing rape. You know as well as I do that it’s rare to make an arrest the day of the report on those cases. Well, the Justice system did its thing and the District Attorney’s office decided there wasn’t any probable cause for the arrest or case.

But the damage was done. My shift partner’s picture was already in the paper as a rapist. He was interviewing for federal jobs. He has earned his pilot’s license on his own. All that is gone now.

It was the first case under new administration. The County investigates us (the City) for transparency. They jumped the gun on their first opportunity because they wanted to show the public we’re not corrupt.

Same here. Not into special treatment or self aggrandizing bullshit. Im principled and simply want a more measured and reasonable approach from public officials not looking to sacrifice us to brainless mobs of malcontents.

And holy shit about your partner. We had a scandal here where a male officer killed a female officer playing Russian Roulette. Oh boy…

The CEO at the first company I worked at after college used an incredibly strong scent. You could actually track his whereabouts through the office as it’d leave a Pepe-Le-Peau (spelling?) like trail in his wake. It was pretty offensive but came in handy often.
