You know I was born in 1984 and none of that has occurred in my lifetime, and definitely not in my career.
Look up the Department of Justice crime statistics. They don’t gather the data every year and the most recent I saw was from 2016. The statistics break it down pretty well. Overall, white people commit more violent crimes, but per capita, black people blow us out of the water. I just remembered that I posted a link in my log a while back. Here it is. I can’t explain why things are the way they are, but I’m tired of people blaming other people for their choices.
From my perspective (and experience), it’s nothing to do with white or black or green. It’s simple choices. Broken homes lead to broken lives. If you have children and completely ignore them then they grow up to be selfish jerks (violent, too).
And don’t give me that crap about opportunity. For kids, yeah, they don’t get a choice. But they have a choice when they grow up to do the same thing their crappy parents did or to be different. If they choose the selfish path then that’s on them.
School is free, and you don’t even have to do well to graduate. College scholarships and grants are more available to minorities than to someone like me. Failing to apply for such things is not oppression.
The solution isn’t to blame the white man. The solution is to promote and build healthy families. That will lead to strong communities. And that will make a difference in the world. Until then, things will continue to get worse.
