Yes, the boy and the dog are both mine. I actually have 4 dogs. That one is my livestock guardian dog - she’s only a puppy and she’s already over 100lbs (half Anatolian Shepherd, half Great Pyrenees). I also have two Rotties and a German Shepherd/Dobie mix that guard my home.
I am not a farmer now, but I do have an 8 acre homestead on the side of a mountain in rural Virginia and some livestock so I can be somewhat self-sufficient, but I’m still working in the data center critical power business.
I certainly hope everything is going well with you! I see some familiar folks and some new ones. Should be interesting seeing how everyone is.
It sounds like things are going very well - I’m really glad. Your son is gorgeous. Did you ever find a woman you could trust?
I’m doing absurdly well. Just had my 2nd anniversary (together going on 6 years) with a man who makes me laugh, who is financially responsible, and who doesn’t lie. I live in the world’s sweetest house on a couple of acres with a view, my kids are all doing well, and I’ve started a private practice, which is thriving.
Not to say there aren’t bumps, but all in all…good.
Recognizing people for who they are, whether that be bad or good.
For example, recognizing that your girlfriend has been pulling the wool over your eyes for months should make you happy, because you’ve figured out their true intentions/their character.
I’m very HAPPY to hear that you are doing so well.
As for me, I managed to land a DIME who is as smart as she is beautiful. Half Indian (dot not feather) half Portuguese - very exotic. She grew up in the islands raising goats and shooting coconuts off the tree. I got VERY lucky! I am very happy.
What’s particularly joyful about this is, I have been training soldiers (of every branch) is certain outdoor activities free of charge as a volunteer. The CO pointed out that I was reserves eligible and could do what I was doing and get reserve pay (and eventual retirement, which is a nice, albeit small, side benefit). So I joined. After a couple of years, he had to move, and I was suddenly the CO, which has to be a major or above, so I got promoted.
Kind of a random way to earn the rank, and a little cheap, but I’m taking it. I really enjoy what I am doing.
