too cute
Today I bought tickets for a show for the first time in about 1.5 years. As much as I dislike Ticketmaster, it’s the happiest moment I’ve had in awhile.
Living in a place where i knocked off work at 4pm, and was at the top of a 1500’ line at 630pm. Back at my house for dinner before 8pm. I’m one of those crunchy people who gets recharged by being in “nature”, and for me, there is no better “nature” than the PNW mountains and forests. This spring/early summer is gonna be sick. Its hero dirt on the MTB trails, and the snowpack above 3000’ is still FAT. With it staying light out till +9pm I have options for some real fun afterwork adventures the next couple months.
Absolutely killing life man. Where are you posted up? Would love to move to mountains someday
Seattle area. But we’re full here and it rains 362 days/yr. Also, Antifa violently riots every night, the homeless live on every street, taxes are 82% of your income, and housing only exists in the seven-figure range. Tell your friends.
There are mountains in Colorado and Wyoming too…
Ever since I visited Jackson Hole I have wanted to live there. Not much for an engineer to do in that town though.
This looks like one of those lakes near Snoqualmie Pass, don’t know their names. It’s been more than ten years since I’ve skied there…
WFH. It was the hot thing to do in jackson years before covid ever hit. Stock broker ski bums taking calls on the lift or in the lodge was a cliche. Which is partly why you probably couldnt afford it on an engineers salary haha. STUPID expensive housing, hardly any of it, and its even worse nowadays. But the grand titties and GTNP sure have a strong draw.
If youre only criteria is “mountains” most western states have areas that would fit the bill. Its when you start adding in all the life things that you want/need where your selection gets whittled down.
Damn, you should compete in those geography guessing games based on a single picture. Keechelus Lake in the background.
Finally getting my $3k tax refund ![]()
I get to join a really cool project with two profs
Even better, it’s EXACTLY what I wanted to study, can’t wait to get started!
How long did they make you wait? I’m still waiting on mine for stimmy reasons apparently?
I do believe this is the first time happiest and Ticketmaster have been been used in the same sentence, unless “I’m not the happiest counts”.
I did my taxes mid-March. I’ve never had to wait for my refund that long before. Of course COVID may have played a role… I received all of the stimulus checks, though the second one (I think) was delayed because I forgot to change my address with IRS after moving, so that could have been it as well.
It’s funny what desperation does to you. I guess I’m lucky that I’ve never had any major problems with Ticketmaster, considering I’ve bought so many tickets from them for years. I’d much rather purchase directly from the venue.
The CS ppl!
A couple of them invited me to PGH for a visit!
Thats very nice!
Are you going to take them up on it?
If I can convince mum. I asked and she seemed skeptical.
This is the first time I’ve had friends invite me to hang out
Rescued a young lady stuck under 80kg in the squat rack this morning. She hasn’t ‘used the barbell much before’ apparently. No safety pins, WAY too much weight (she’d only by 60kg ish BW). My good deed for the day.
Here’s hoping she’s learnt from the experience. No comment made on weight, just advised to use the safety pins.
Wish I could like multiple times
People like you are a HUGE apart of a positive gym experience for ladies like me (and presumably her too)
That reminds me. This morning, there were a couple of really strong dudes working out. I wanted to try the safety squat bar for the first time. They took time out of their workout to help me set up and teach me
Awwww thanks, glad my initial response was to leap over and help, as it was starting to crush her into a pretzel! She was hex bar deadlifting shortly after, so no injury. Here’s hoping she returns for her sake. (first time i’d seen her at the gym)
French toast with too much butter and homemade maple syrup made me real happy this past Father’s Day.
