You do realize that ironic is a synonym for sarcastic right?
I believe e you are using it wrong here making the mistake that so many people have made since Alanis morsette made that stupid song.
(What most people think) ironic means = odd coincidence
I think this went so far over your head I’m not even quite sure how to reconcile it.

LOL, I think you could make a whole thread out of why people become cops but I believe you are thinking about State Patrol. I know so okay cops but I have never meant a State patrol or trooper that didn’t take himself way to seriously.
Yes they take themselves seriously but they are also the most professional for the most part.
Speed traps piss me off. Quit generating more revenue off the people that gave you a fucking job. Saw one this morning on my way to work. Cops had someone pulled over in an artificially low zone at 5:30 am.

First speeding ticket I ever got went this way:
Late at night driving home from my girlfriend’s place. Car comes up behind me real fast and starts riding my ass practically touching my bumper. So I’m like “Well fuck you bitch” and I speed up. Lights come on; it was an unmarked car. And then of course the cop treats me like I’m some kind of scumbag by default.

That sucks. Sounds like you hit the wrong pedal. I usually just move over until I kick up the debris on the side of the road, this gets them to back off in a hurry. Still probably would have gotten pulled over for swerving though.

Other things I would add.
People who accuse everyone who is physically stronger or bigger than they are of using steroids.
People who bash the bench press. Is it a little overrated? Yeah, maybe but I enjoy it so fuck off.
The quarter squatters at the gym whose depth increasingly becomes more shallow as they add more weight to the barbell.
People whose diet consist only of processed meat and sugar. Grow the fuck up and eat real food like a proper human being.
Women who refuse to lift weights since they think it will get them “too big.”
Fat people who go to the gym and do mostly ab work thinking that it is going to shrink their mid-section.
People at the gym who do cheat prone grip bicep curls at the gym and call it a “powerclean”.
People who read books or do schoolwork while on exercise equipment at the lowest setting.
People who justify their shitty, lazy exercise routines as being “better than nothing.” Better than nothing doesn’t mean good enough.
People who spend 90 percent of their free time on Facebook.
People who choose the cheapest character in a fighting game like Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat and spam all of his cheapest moves.
Foul mouthed little kids who play Halo 4 and Call of Duty and their parents for letting them play those games.
World of Warcraft addicts. Get a fucking life.
Alcoholics who are trying to lose weight but not making any effort to reduce their alcohol consumption.
Doctor Who. The show sucks and its been around for way too long, cancel the shit already.
People who say female celebrities like Megan Fox, Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, etc… “aren’t that hot” yet chances are they’re hotter than anyone they will ever date.
People who have an attitude when you ask for a spot. Spotting at the gym is just good gym etiquette, if you don’t like it work out in your own fucking gym.
Massive big box gyms that only have 1-2 squat racks
Cell phone games. They suck and controlling a game with a touch screen will never be as good as using a controller.
People who can’t handle spicy food. Grow some balls you fucking pussies.
Men who don’t like the taste of beer and only drink girly mixed drinks…fags.
Thanks for saving me from the effort to type all that out … Nicely done

Go to a sporting goods store and buy a hockey puck for $2. If its hot and you’re going to be away from your bike for more than 30 minutes put it under your kickstand.

I have also seen a guy that used a deck of cards.
I’m also tired of the whole crossfit / functional strength crowd, who look down on bench presses and curls because they don’t simulate “real life” … While flopping yourself up to a metal bar over and over somehow lends itself to scaling a wall
This is especially annoying given that most people who subscribe to this training work in cubicles, live in the suburbs, and have about as much chance of getting into a life or death physical ordeal as I have of getting eaten by a tiger that escaped from the zoo.
If you are in the military, police, fire, etc I get it … If you’re a desk bound office drone, I don’t think the rationale for your training method should be something that has a 1% chance of happening

Not calling BS but I don’t think this one actually counts.
It sounds like you have an insecurity about how people perceive you. In my experience people are far too wrapped up in how they appear to worry about anyone else. Especially when it comes to money, they are much more concerned about theirs than yours. If the subject ever comes up just say your portfolio has done very well. If they ask follow up questions tell them that what you pay the adviser to know.

Professional does not have to equal serious. My only story involving a trooper was at a friends bachelor party. Some dude spent the night not drinking and eyeballing everyone else on the party bus. Then we get off to hit another bar and this guy makes sure that everyone has there ID checked and that the bouncers know he is a trooper. Then proceeds to give us (a bunch of 30 year old men) directions about when we are leaving and where we have to be in an hour blah blah blah.

I’m with Testy here. Just tap them brakes or just get off the gas until they get pissed and round you.

I’m still a massively judgmental asshole about a lot fo things, but trying to get better.
That said, not that this type of attitude is age dependent, but youth is for the young, don’t piss it away on old man games. Nam’ Sayin’?

Author W. Scott Peck has written a good bit about this. The idea that “I’m gonna get mine” what ever that “mine” may be is the impetus for many a bad deed.

I agree and really respect this.
The ability to self-examine and admit one’s position may be faulty or even groundless is rare.
Prissy women who dress like call girls to go to the gym annoy me. But I am probably in the minority on this one:)
