A question that has nonetheless been answered. Read The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins. We didn’t just appear as complex meat; it took millions of years for “us” to even even become meat, and then some more millions of years to become complex.
But I bet it would only take a few days to make us all BBQ meat!
But again as a man of faith I have to rely on the bible to teach me. On that thought the bible shows that man has not been on the earth for millions of years. We have only been here about five thousand according to biblical hx
and what ever came before is not important for us to know or god would have told us. even though it is in are nature to look and search for answers
are brains cannot even fathom the simplist details of god.

I’m not trying to discredit anything you believe. I’ve done enough of those threads to realize that no one ever changes their opinions, much less their beliefs.
I was just intrigued about your position that we’ve been purposely created, while at the same time being “nothing special” in the universe. It just seems to be somewhat contradictory to me. I like discussing interesting ideas, that’s all.
And about the ability to choose, if those choices led to the destruction of all life on the planet (major nuclear war, runaway global warming, asteroid impact, rogue bioweapon, etc), do you think the Creator would intervene to prevent it? Or simply see to it that those choices never happen? In which case, are we really free to choose?
Again, for those who believe in God, this world is already destined to be destroyed. Are you really this unfamiliar with the concept of God? I really want to know.
Well, they are a lot of “concepts of God” going around. Yours simply seems to be somewhat outside the usual “mainstream” beliefs Christians usually hold.

Prof x is right the world as we know has a limited time. this is because of satans challange to gods authority, were he stated he could be god and turn the entire inhabited earth against him.
So death war and pestilence are a result of satans influence not gods and he will put a stop to in the alloted time.

I think it is much more likely that you just never took to the time to actually understand some of those concepts before making your mind up that certain concepts were unbelievable.
"The are a lot more bones from dinosaurs, which are not mentioned in the Bible… "
Pookie, dinosaurs are in the Bible. Check out ‘behemoth.’
Behemoth has the following attributes according to Job 40:15-24
It “eats grass like an ox.”
It “moves his tail like a cedar.” (In Hebrew, this literally reads, “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.”)
Its “bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.”
“He is the first of the ways of God.”
“He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.”
that site also speaks about “leviathan”
Don’t you think it a little unlikely that a 3500 year old book could describe dinosaurs if dinosaurs and man were not supposed to have coexisted?

Can’t someone be exposed to the same/similar concepts you were, but come to a different conclusion? It seems to me that you’re the one who’s having trouble explaining his understanding of those concepts. If you don’t wish to discuss those concepts and your beliefs, just say so; don’t just assume ignorance or lack of understanding from those that don’t share your views.

Well, if the Hebrew version says “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.” that simply seems to be a way to say he’s got a straight tail. Sounds like an hippopotamus to me…
Extremely unlikely, bordering on the impossible. So, obviously, it’s not describing a dinosaur, but some other (maybe even mythological) being.

Legendary creatures in mythology are common. What would this prove?

This could describe an elephant, etc.
The only part of this passage that is hard to explain away is:
“He is the first of the ways of God.”
What does this mean exactly? Does this mean God created him first?
Oh come on pookie. If I said “my penis hangs like a cedar” would you take that to mean that my penis is straight or large? I feel like your deliberately misinterpreting the passage to fit yoru preconceptions. “His tail hangs like a cedar” means it has a gigantic tail hanging off its butt. Take a look at the hippo and tell me if anyone in there right mind would say its tail hangs like a cedar.
Your second paragraph commits a fallacy so egregious that I can only hope it was meant to be taken sarcastically. You started with an assumption [the one I suggested: that dinosaurs never coexisted with men] to prove the same assumption [i.e. that the bible couldn’t possibly be talking about a dinosaur] Theres a latin word for that but I can’t recall it.
Oh, and elephants with there, rope like tails are also out of the picture.

Yes, but you are the one who seemed to claim you had never heard my take on it before or that my take on it was outside of “mainstream Christianity”. It isn’t.

Good. Let’s explore that avenue.
I posted the thread linking to the article on the lab grown meat being developed, and it got me thinking. Even if it were completely identical in taste and texture, only with an improved nutrient profile, I’d still prefer the real thing. Why? I’m not a believer in souls or anything (weak tie-in attempt to other debate), but I’d like to believe that if there are souls, that I’m consuming an animal with one-- and the soul itself. Mmmmmm, soul.
