It’s about time people start taking responsibility for their actions. I am absolutely floored by the arrogence of conservatives. People should learned how to take responsibilty for their ancestors actions instead of allowing these instances of ethnic nationalism to be perpetuated for centuries.
You are responsible only because you choose to be ignorant of the past. This is not progressive thinking, it’s simply negligence. Negligence should be punishable by law. As fathers, sons, voters, tax payers, and all together members of the human race.

I don’t see you apologizing to anybody, because yes even your culture (as every culture) has imposed some form of persecution on people. So I am waiting for your apology. Other than that, I will not apologize for something I did not do. If you don’t like that, that is your problem.

How can you punish someone for the actions of another?
Yes. Innocent Iraqi, just like your Aunt Suzie is an innocent American. Also known as a civi. Not everyone is an enemy combatant. Is the military taught otherwise? That would explain a lot. Not far fatched either.

You can “punish” (rather blame) the person that does not recognize the wrong doing. Rather playing it off as something that ‘just happens’. And therefore perpetuates the wrong doing or way of thinking that caused the wrong doing.

Also, there is a difference between self determination and military occupation (current situation in Iraq).
The purpose of that war was… well:
First, “Iraq harbors terrorists”. When no terrorists were found then it was “Iraq has WMDs” when no WMDs were found then it was “Sadaam Hussein is a tyrant” when Sadaam was captured and put to death then it was “We need oil”.
In this conquest the Iraqi way of life has been destroyed. Is this self determination for the Iraqis? Or are we still spreading democracy?

For your information though I am not. And As far back as I can trace, you know with slavery/deletion of family records there is at least one ‘evil’ man in my ancestry. I am direct decendent of Nat Turner. I do not appologize for his actions on the grounds that they were perpetrated in reaction to wrongful practice and therefore deserving.
