I’ve never even heard of this movie and I thought I was pretty up on horror movies. If they can do a decent (in my opinion better) remake of Dawn of The Dead, I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this. Not all remakes are wastes of film.

This movie is rated PG-13 the original was R mostly becaues of a few, the ending especially, disturbing scenes. The ending is disturbing for some and from what I read its hollywood’ed up. I havent read any screenings of it though and could be just rumors.
I did just read something that supposidly is from the director. Slightly spoilerish.
The ending to the wicker man is probably the second most disturbing ending I’ve seen in a film.
The first went to a french film that I have unfortunately forgot the name of. If anybody remembers, it ends up with the guy finding out what happened to his girlfriend (Im trying not to give away the ending.)
The original is awesome. It centers around Scottish folklore and paganism. It plays out like a “B” movie but has since developed a cult following due to the subject matter and the eerie way in which its approached. The remake with its big studio production is taking the Scottish element right out of it and throwing in some CGI basing the film in the Northeast and Canada.
The original writer has actually requested his name be removed from the new one. He’s not too happy with what they’ve done.
I’m interested to see where they’ve gone with this film but I’m not expecting it to be very comparable to the original.

“The Vanishing”
And they remade that and destroyed the ending, correct?[/quote]
With Get Carter and The Vanishing, it seems the Brits don’t mind a movie with a downer ending.
Most Cheesy Hollywood Change to a Movie’s ending: Hitchcock’s The Birds. He wanted the ending to be them escaping from the little town only to find the Golden Gate Bridge covered with birds — that would kick everyon’e ass even now, but esp. then!

That would have been an absolutely awesome ending! I never knew that! Thats it, time for me to remake it the way it was supposed to be!
I’ve seen more of the trailer since my last post and it actually looks pretty intriguing. It looks like they’ve expanded upon the feed-the-earth aspect of the “religion” the policeman encounters.
There’s some creepy CGI stuff that may give folks chia pet nightmares.

The ending to the movie “Kids” was pretty disturbing in a non-violent way.
