Iā€™ve heard hispanic people, including ones with indigenous background, call themselves ā€œbrownā€ for some reason. Iā€™ve also heard Indian Americans (parents immigrants from India) call themselves ā€œbrownā€. Itā€™s confusing and makes no sense

I think referring to yourself by skin color or tone is stupid and is following a categorization that was started by racists. Skin color mattered to racists, why should it matter to those who arenā€™t racists?

If I were to refer to myself by skin tone, I would call myself multi-colored, or a person of many colors.

  • From blood clots behind my knees, my right calf has a dark brown color and the left calf a lighter shade of brown.
  • My thighs appear to have a slight yellow color.
  • My chest, back, and abdominal is a typical Caucasian shade.
  • Rosacea gives my face a splotched reddish look.

Asians arenā€™t yellow, native Americans arenā€™t red, African Americans arenā€™t black and Caucasians arenā€™t white.

The closest any group gets to being a colour is Northern Europeans/Irish/British people when they spend a bit too long in the sun.
