All the air fryer is, is a convection oven. I do think they are designed to heat up really quickly (maybe part of this is how little the cooking space is?). Ours heats up so quick, I can go from cold to cooked crescent rolls in 5-6 minutes. That is 15 minutes after heating up in the oven (probably close to 25 minutes with conventional oven). Maybe a toaster oven could do this?
Made some waffle fries last night. Just as good as the restaurant IMO. The waffle fry is the king of all fried potatoes IMO, controversial here, but the curly fry is in second, traditional fry in third, and then way down the list is the crinkle cut. Not sure if wedges count as a fry?
Why is this the turkey the brass ring of cooking devices? I know you’ve heard my rants about microwaves from the late 70’s, early 80’s, so I won’t go into that, but why turkeys?
Only reason I haven’t popped in here with ANYTHING of value is because I cannot ignore how my brain immediately goes to thinking of dirty stuff when I see the thread title.
@wanna_be just made some hazelnut butter. Must say I’m quite disappointed. Better than macadamia but still a bit flavourless IMO.
Here is my rankings (mostly based on flavour)
Pistachio
Pecan
Peanut
Cashew
Hazelnut
Cashew
Sun butter
Hazelnut
Almond
Macadamia
Walnut (this was a disaster. Turned out gritty and the oil refused to emulsify)
Want to try pumpkin seed butter but idk if my blender will grind it fine enough to turn into butter. I made the sun butter with a very small, fancy food processor and it was still a tad gritty
You know, I never got to make this most amazing sack of nuts. Before I switched into gaining mode I hired a coach, apparently a five gallon bucket of nuts I’d just randomly eat throughout the day wasn’t in his meal plan, which sucks.
One day though. My Amazon cart still has like $180 worth of nuts
