I think if you have to list all of the minorities you are friends with - you have a deeper problem than just hating poor white people.
Hack Wilson wrote:
i think that i am the definition of someone who judges people according to the content of their character. fact is, i don’t care how much money a person makes. i care how they live and how they treat others. to be more specific, i care how somone’s lifestyle affects me.
for instance, two gay guys live two doors down. cool. nice guys. my kids play in their yard, have lunch at their house some weekends. they love kids. no problem. what goes on the house does not affect me. they deserve to be happy. they are good people.
three doors up, white, straight family. fine. no problem there, right? the problem comes in when the fireworks get set off at 3:00 AM. throughout july and august. into september. that affects me. the problem is the parade of highschool boys visiting the daughter at all hours, raising hell. that affects me. that wakes up my kids. so i deal with that.
a bigot hates people because of what they are. i don’t hate anyone, first off. i have problems with people because of what they do and how they act, how they treat me and others. my point is that i think i have to price the trash out of the equation. someone mentioned that i can’t do that. well. maybe i can’t. but i can decrease the odds, right?
it’s pretty easy to call me a bigot. it’s an old fall-back. the old standby. bigot. that’s supposed to hit home and we all shit ourselves with shame. not in this case. 50% of my buddies are black. guys i played ball with and still see regularly. 50% are white. i don’t think about which are which. they are my friends. that’s it.
my favorite neighbor is black. mailman. great guy. responsible. takes care of his home. quiet. respectful of others. to me, it’s shameful to even point out the fact that he’s black. he’s my neighbor. he has a name. he’s a good guy. that’s what he is. i also don’t think about what he makes. doesn’t matter. he works hard. takes care his family. that’s what matters. not his skin color. not his income.
i think that was the point i was trying to make. maybe a poor attempt to make it. too often we choose friends based on things like skin color. this guy has more in common with me than most all of my other neighbors. i’d choose to live near 100 other men with the same values as this guy any day.
i’m sure i stated my point clumsily at times. mostly out of sarcasm and anger. and yeah, i can be elitist and condescending. i know it. i came from poverty, as well. i have worked hard in my life and i work hard now for my family. i don’t see enough of that around me. i see a general deteriorization of our society as a whole. the term ‘white trash’ intimated something other than my point, i think.
as for the term ‘supertotal’. any olympic lifter and most powerlifters would know what that is. it’s not that exotic a term. it’s bench, deadlift, squat, snatch, clean and jerk. the total of those lifts is a supertotal. my college strengh coach measured it and i’ve been (trying to) improve mine ever since. from a training perspective, i’d recommend it. it’s a true reflection of limit strength, explosiveness and athleticism. IN my opinion, of course.
i came on strong here because that seems the way things are done. i also get pissed easy. my intial post was inspired by anger brought on by something that occured toward my two-year old son, who has special needs. something born out of ignorance and hatred. things i associate with the general deteriorization of society. something i attribute - probably erroneously - to an influx of ‘white trash’ values.
Much better post, got your point across in a much more effective way.Not being condescending, just appreciate it that you took the time to explain your viewpoint better. We are not seeing enough of that kind of thing here lately.
And apologies for my sarcastic remark in my last post.

Now you are basing how much a person makes as to whether they are worthy to live/breathe next to you?
AND you have a “super total” that would put us all to shame?
Good God - and internet tough-guy/bigot.
I bet your wife is really hot as well.
You are a fucking idiot.
RJ just found his twin. (that just so happens to have some real size unlike RJ and a hot wife)
This thread is beginning to show real potential!

One more thing…when did this qualify as “big” on a bodybuilding site? Unless you are near contest shape at this weight with a body fat % around 6%-8%, I am not impressed. You talk a lot of shit. How about we see some pictures to back any of that up.
i don’t know that i ever said i was big. IMO - i used to be. i’ll have my wife snap some pics of me training this weekn and i’ll post 'em. BTW - i am around 8% bodyfat now.
You said you were big when you wrote:

You may not know this. But the bigger and more impressive you are, the more attitude you get. Probably does not happen to you. But when I frequented bars, as you probably still do, I’d get challenged all the time because I’m a physical specimen. The real deal. A proven athlete. A winner. Athletically and financially.
This implied that you were so big that this was why you were getting so much attitude from others.
To me, you would be much smaller and much less the “physical specimen” you seem to think you are.

okay. i’m six-feet tall and i weigh 222 as of 5:15 AM today. using calipers i was measured at 8.6% bodyfat two weeks ago. that day, i weighed 218. friday night i power cleaned and power jerked 155 kg. (341 lbs.) for 8 singles and then (full olympic back) squatted 210 kg.(462) for 3 sets of 3 reps, then did one set of front squats x 8 reps at 160 kg. saturday i benched up to 182.5 kg. (401) for 3 x 3 then did standing military presses, warm-up then one set x 8 at 125 kg. (275). i do everything in shorts and a t-shirt. i haven’t worn my belt in 2 years. i don’t know how any of this compares to what you do. but that’s what i am and that’s what i do. it is what it is.
my best OL total is 320 kg. (140/180) in the 105 kg. class. this was two years ago. i cleaned 185 in that meet and missed the jerk. i have competed in raw powerlifting and (power) squatted 260 kg. (572) benched 200 kg. (440) and (conventional) deadlifted 270 kg. (594). this was done at a bodyweight of 207 pounds (94 kg.). i had to diet down from 225 in the last two weeks. this was done about 8 months ago. this is a 1050 kg. “supertotal”. thats 2310 pounds. i am capable of somehthing close to those lifts right now. if you think i’m small and weak, more power to you. you look like big enough dude. maybe it is weak to you. good for you.

I’m sorry - I don’t spend my day reading blogs…what is an AWM, again?
Acronyms may be a big deal where you work - but they really mean nothing to me.

It’s probably more accurate to say that the bigger and more impressive you are, the more attention you will recieve. The attidude you recieve is probaly comensurate with yours IMHO. What I’m saying is that how you handle that attention is up to you.

I’m not sure if your real life personality is close to your internet personality, but maybe you got challenged all the time because you come off as an elitist snobby, cocky douchebag?
I’m just saying, think about it.
I rest my case.
Do you not see that comments like this paint you as a major asshole?

And if I made around 50K a year I’d be in the class of people I’m trying to get away from. Not because they make that paltry sum, but because most in that low income braket don’t take care of their homes and spend the weekends getting bombed and smoked out of their minds instead of taking care of their family. Triple that income. Now you’re getting close. Probably hard to comprehend, I know. Try.
$50,000!? Man. That tells me what I need to know about you.
You are a major asshole.
Most of the firefighters coming to put out the house fire at your mansion on the hill, provide first response medical treatment to you and your genetically gifted family, or pull your ass out of the wreck of a car you’re in, make around this much a year.
My brother and sister firefighters will make every attempt to not leave any of our “dirty white trashness” when we’re dispatched to your house.
You sound like a load that should’ve been swallowed.

First, none of your lifts mean anything to me. Second, I never said you were small and weak. You were the one who originally wrote that I couldn’t relate to your gigantic muscles, your humongous bank account and your overwhelming strength. I am just letting you know that there is always someone bigger and badder than you are. So far, we have heard how great your income is and how strong you are…as if these traits set you above anyone else.
I’m sorry, but they don’t in terms of character. It took me quite a few years to reach the size I am now and I still recognize that there are people bigger and smaller than me who can blow my progress out of the water. That is why I work harder.
Your income means nothing to me. Your muscles mean nothing to me, and I am still failing to see how you are better than everyone else simply because you bought a more expensive house.
Yes, we do talk a lot of shit on this forum. Most of us are guys who i am sure are a little high on the scale of competitiveness and agression. however, your post was pretty sickening. I hope I never lose who I am like that and begin to base worth on dollar signs.
Hack Wilson wrote:
wait. was there a point there somewhere?
Yeah, they were in gold print, some were even enumerated, you should read them. Here’s the summary;
At best you very confused and probably insecure, at worst you are an idiotic, insecure lying bigot. In either event, quit whining.
Oh, so they ran into (or ‘rammed’ I guess) a stroller and not a kid? Was anyone hurt?
You seem to mistake me for someone who cares whether you have a solid gold crapper in your house or not. Which is funny since you claim to believe that $ and worth don’t go hand in hand. And as I said, and as you are proving, FMV of your property is a poor indicator of your intelligence and/or values. I’d be more impressed if you had built the outhouse and dug the pool, which you, of course, did because you can supertotal is ginormous and you aspire to make an unbelievable $150K/yr., live in a fabulous $400K mansion on an expansive 2 acres and have a smokin’ hot wife and played college ball and practiced in the NFL. All of which makes you better than your neighbor who drinks, doesn’t mow his lawn, and runs your children down on the sidewalk. As it stands, I’m not impressed with your ‘white trash’ neighbors nor am I impressed with your idiotic whining.
I think people swearing around you makes you nervous, I’m pretty sure people thinking you live in a $275K house makes you nervous, I think people assuming you to be a small weakling makes you nervous, you shouldn’t be afraid of your average 300 pounder, you should be afraid of anyone with half a brain, or anyone you can’t ‘one up’ on a message board.
“if you are a pussy, which it sounds like you are, then you’re a whiner.”

i thought my subsequent post might have been a little more clear with regards to the amount of importance I put on income. None.
Load that should have been swallowed? That’s good.
believe me. in real life - not in this pretend world - i am far from arrogant.

have you read everything i posted? i have no problem with the amount someone makes…uh…fuck it.
Oh yea…but us on the East coast are the elitists?
Well thanks Hack, for proving that one wrong.
I’ve spent enought time in trailer parks and mansions to know that the less money someone’s got, the more I like’em.
Mostly because while you’re having a conniption about crap in garages, those guys decorate the hundred square feet by their trailer with multicolored propane tanks. I always get a kick out of that.
Being strong doesn’t make you cool though, especially when you’re an ass like yourself.
Do you only go to the expensive gyms too? The ones where you can sip your latte while you work out all the while watching reruns of “Everybody Loves Raymond”?

Not to mention retarded in that he got a full ride scholarship, played ball (we can only assume he played for Notre Dame and won instead of say, UConn. and sucked), practiced in the NFL, and went on to hint at making $150K/yr. and owning a 2 acre $400K mansion in a “upper-middle class” white trash neighborhood. Really, he’s neither a proven athlete nor a financial winner IMO.

Please stop feeding the Troll!

notre dame’s an independent in football, dipshit. uconn wasn’t division 1-A until a few years ago. see, the big east that you see today? well…those teams were not ALWAYS big east, see? does that help you, genius? try to keep up. insulting people can be complicated work. you don’t seem up to it quite yet. maybe you’ll wake up after study hall?

Hahahaha. What a come back.
My name has nothing to do with the football team you dumb piece of shit.
Apprarently being rich and tough as nails and elitist and blah blah blah doesn’t make you any smarter. The way you write is indicitive enough…did they actually teach you punctuation in that college you went to? Or did were you just so amazing that you went right to a practice squad?
Idiot.
Hack,
A bit of humbleness goes a long way.Nobody here can know what you lift, money you make,or anything else.Just as you can have no idea what any of the guys on here are capable of.More importantly, nobody cares. All we have to judge you on is by what you post.
And so far it’s not going well…don’t tell us what a hero you are, just speak some sense we can all relate to and then we can all discuss whatever is on your and all of our minds in a constructive manner.
Might not be as much fun as a pissing contest, but will ensure more debate as opposed to getting flamed.
Just my view.
