In all seriousness though, I’m just bustin’ Irish’s balls. I don’t participate in PWI very much at all anymore, mostly because there aren’t enough people with his viewpoints to offset the conservatives over there. That, and the fact that my ego has begun running so wildly out of control (for no real reason at all) that I’ve tricked myself into thinking I’m intellectually superior to about 90% of the posters in there.
Actually, as someone who isn’t really strictly conservative OR liberal (I swing both ways in that respect) the main problem I have over there is that any time I take even a moderate stance on something, let alone an outright liberal stance on some issues, it ends up being me against pretty much everyone else. I just don’t have the time or the patience to have a discussion with that many people at once and I certainly don’t have it in me anymore to engage in an outright slugfest with 10 or 20 different posters at once. If there was a way to limit my interaction with just a couple people at a time (specifically Push, Mufasa, Thunderbolt, John S. and maybe one or two others) without appearing to be avoiding the rest due to what many erroneously perceive to be an inability to combat their asinine arguments, I would spend more time there.

There are certain people that can argue with you and really push you to look deeply into your own argument and make sure all your premises are right before you move along. And, at the same time, make you truly consider whether or not you believe the thing you are arguing. He’s one of the guys that can do that, and I truly enjoyed debating with him.
His depth of historical knowledge also impresses me as well. Arguing with someone who understands history - and those people are rare - is challenging and adds a lot to it.
