Thought for the day:

Pubic service announcement for LEO’s, security personnel, and responsible gun owners. Don’t miss this during a pat down or search. Parents, pay attention on what “toy guns” some child is playing with.

9mm

Altor 9mm Single-Shot:

*At first glance, the Altor 9mm resembles an air compressor, garden hose nozzle, glue gun, or maybe even a small hairdryer. But it doesn’t look like a typical pistol, aside from the fact it’s roughly shaped like one. *

This is good because it may be less intimidating to new people. But it’s also bad because it could be easy for a child to mistake for a toy and do something stupid. If you have little ones, be extra careful with one of these around.

For those of us who have been training for years, we have all had “little mishaps” occur. A couple of these has humbled yours truly in the past. I had to laugh at loud at these examples.

Thought for the day:

Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty are three words unknown to the woke crowd. Always remember the warriors that came before you:

crow 1

crow 2

A Native American named Joseph Medicine Crow was an infantryman and a scout from World War II. He was the last war chief from the Crow tribe of Montana. He completed the last four requirements to become a legitimate war chief when; he touched an enemy without killing them, took an enemy’s weapon, led a successful war party, and stole 50 horses. He did all of these things while fighting Nazis in Europe.

My takeaways from this:

-Have pride in your heritage, never forget who you are or where you came from.

-Be part of something greater than yourself.

-Be fearless and fight like a savage against evil.

-Be more like Joe.

Out of curiosity, is a weapon like this feasible/of any use for self defence scenarios? You’ve only got one shot. With adrenaline running and whatnot wouldn’t it be pretty easy to misfire

IMHO, I don’t want to rely on anything that is a single shot, so, for me , no. However, to give credit to a poster who used to be here, " It’s better than bad breath and finger nails".

Might surprise someone enough that they got shot by a spray nozzle, to allow you to get your knife out.

Hehe, just being a wiseacre.

Everything about this - to include the capacity - seems risky as fuck. Seems more suited to an assassination. Perhaps at a backyard brunch.

Man killed by Long Beach police was holding a water nozzle, not a gun, police say - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

The jist of the story from Dec 14, 2010: Long Beach PD (CA) officer respond to a man with a gun. The man was sitting on a backyard porch and was shot by two officers with a “gun” in his hand…which turned out to be a water nozzle.

I looked at the specs and it doesn’t seem like you gain much at all.

My sig p365 is roughly twice the weight loaded, which is still quite light and the same width while having 10 + 1 rounds. I can’t see that light single shot bein any more accurate or easy to shoot.

Plus it looks like a thug throw away weapon

$109 for a 365 is a screamin deal.

Lol those specs were for the garden hose gun.

Head up to Howells and they’ll get you into a Sig at a good price. I think mine was $550 with an hour of range time thrown in.

If I was broke with under $200 to spend I’d be considering a High Point over the single shot.

The fellas across town set me up with a pretty similar offering from Springfield that I’ve been digging. Different flavor of the same good stuff.

Next on the list is some nice obsolescent steel with a low mag capacity of large diameter rounds.

This model has be discontinued as the pic says, but, if you can find one, its a nice steel carry option. I bought mine about 4 or 5 years ago and it delivers. The price has doubled since I bought mine. sign of the times.

Appreciate the recommendation man, I’ve had good luck with Springfield products so far. I’ll probably go full size when I do pull the proverbial trigger though, since it’ll almost exclusively be a range gun rather than a carry option.

Piked up a CMMG Banshee in .45 ACP last month. Was running crazy during that period home, so didn’t get a chance to go shoot it (Holosun I ordered for it showed up dead in the box, had to send it back). Planning on starting the suppressor process after I get home, as well as a folding stock adapter. Plan is for this to go in a backpack as part of a ‘counter active shooter’ kit.

Sounds like a nice setup, have a safe trip.

Information for new gun buyers on the ammo shortage. Buyer beware, stay with reputable companies on buying and ordering ammo, price gouging is showing its ugly head.

Note: From personal experience, ammo prices rise and fall like the stock market. Check daily for price changes.

Ahuh, no kidding!

@idaho you’re spot on about ammo bro. I’d add that it’s helpful for tge overall market to buy ammo local vs internet when feasible.
That said, I couldn’t locate mine and recently paid $14/box of 50 than I did in 2019. Crazy. Thank God I was already well stocked on JHP’s when the shortage started, and no, I didn’t cause it
