Ah–so the accusation isn’t ‘unverifiable’–rather, it is (in your opinion) unverified.

Well, if you have no witnesses, no date, no location, no idea of how you arrived or left…Not much to work with.

If an accusation is made against someone, how is their guilt of said accusation to be determined in absence of evidence.

In the Ford case, there is a potential witness, but Grassley is declining to call him. Not sure of the other factoids you mention are all that vital to verifying a sexual-assault allegation.

No, Mark Judge–the only other person the accuser puts in the room. And he (Judge) has stated publicly that he has no recollection of such an event. Despite this, Grassley steadfastly refuses to call him to testify. Odd, don’t you think?

He has already given them a written statement. Why would they demand anything further from him if Ford has only just now actually agreed (maybe) to testify under oath? They haven’t called Keyser, her female friend (who doesn’t remember any such party) either, to be cross–examined by the committee.
I mean both the accused and the witnesses are also human beings with their own lives. Outside of Kavanaaugh, none of them were looking to have those lives thrown into total chaos, and to be cross-examined (grilled) by a senate committee. She needs to come with something more than a tentative year and a season before she starts making demands. She watched as the process closed up over the summer. Still, they have given her a chance to make a case, extending deadlines like 5 times.

Then there’s Ramirez who called around trying to get old classmates to help her determine if her memories were real. Yet, despite them all saying they had no idea what she was talking about, her lawyer helped her recover these memories over 6 days. The NYT calls several dozen potential witnesses in pursuit of the story and can’t find a single one.
Then there’s the Miranda lady. She attended the same school as Ford. On facebook, she claimed to have heard all about the attempted rape days later at school. Indeed, it was supposedly the talk of the school.
Except, Ford herself said never told ANYONE back then. Further, Ford said it happened during the summer. So how was it the talk of the school days later? Finally, none of Ford’s classmates say they heard these rumors.
After all this was pointed out, she retracted the post.
Point being, people are prepared to lie for a cause. That includes the people making accusations…
Mark Judge is on record as saying he has no memory of the event, and it seems unlikely that being called to testify would alter that.
Committee (D): Where you at the party in question?
Judge: Which one is that? Do you have a date or location?
.Committee (D): You are going to act like you can’t remember the party, really?
Judge: Umm, do you even know which party it was yourself ? Date, location? A witness ready to say I was there at this undetermined party?
As long as Kavanaugh does NOT say:
“…I did NOT have sex with that woman…!”
He should be fine…

Well, he’s already said he didn’t have sexual intercourse, or anything like sexual intercourse, until years after high school.
Not unless someone has audio of him, as a high school man, lying about his sexual prowess. If they do, he is fucked, as no one in HS has ever lied about that.
