The Supreme Court Fight is On. The Divide Worsens

Does anyone seriously think there are going to be any “winners” in all this?

It is my feeling that Kavanaugh is still highly qualified to be on the Court.

The fact that he has had years when he was in ever-increasing positions of power; often surrounded by young, female students, clerks and assistants; tells me that this man has no pattern of sexual misconduct.

Was he a stupid horn-dog in High School and College like a lot of us?

Probably. But he appears to have left those days behind him.

Another point for the DEMS. If they are in fact putting all their efforts into destroying this man’s chances…beware of who gets nominated next.

This.

I think they’ll get a good bump in the midterms if they can stall it out that long

We’ll see.

This Kavanaugh Circus is not playing well with Independents.

It would blow my mind to see a significant number of people flip their votes over this. Especially in the age of the 1-2 issue voter.

Most likely so.

I am not a good judge of voting trends or in predicting political outcomes.

Well I mostly say that, because to my knowledge, the GOP stalling out Obama’s SCOTUS pick wasn’t really frowned upon by independents. They seemed to do just fine in 2016. I could be wrong though.

I think two things will happen: the republicans will try to play the same game, and eventually the American people will get sick of the game of destroying the opposition by unsubstantiated accusation and realize how dangerous it is.

Who knows, the American people may even wake up to the fact that the Corporate Media Conglomerates are poison, I don’t care who you voted for, and that the two parties we have now are corrupt and toxic, and need to be replaced. But I’m not that optimistic.

The Republicans already have.

Did anyone expect that Matt Lauer was a creep with a pattern of weirdo sexual behavior?

No they haven’t. They delayed a vote, they didn’t try to destroy a career with unsubstantiated accusations. That’s a different game with different consequences for the unwitting participants.

They not only expected…many people knew it, (including management at NBC).

Lauer was also abusing his position of Power…and showed a consistent pattern of sexual misconduct that covered his whole adult Life.

There is absolutely no comparison.

I don’t think you’ll see much voter shifting whatsoever in the coming weeks. Chances are those who are going to vote know how by now.

A 4 point drop though from 2014, I believe, so it can’t be wholly ignored.

My eyes are rolling so hard that I have gone temporartif blpsoj.

Agreed. These moves by the Dems are mostly likely focused at hurting turnout, not actual votes.

I would be amazed to see a single opinion anywhere in existence pointing to stalling out the SCOTUS nomination as being the reason for that shift.

Oh, for sure. But ‘just fine’ has to be compared to 2012 &14, where they polled between 3 and 5% better.

Fair point. The GOP ‘could’ have done better with independents. Maybe stalling out the SCOTUS nomination had a meaningful impact, but I seriously seriously doubt it.

I have evidence that Brett Kavanaugh went into the girls locker room with is pants down in 3rd grade. Prove me wrong.
