I believe if someone is telling the truth, he shouldn’t feel afraid to tell it for lack of proof. If she is telling the truth, then Kavanaugh is lying. Is it ok to lie if no one can prove you are lying?

I mean the Dems will go easy for the same reason the GOP will go hard. They should both dimply be looking for the truth, but the truth is only a means to an end for each of them.
So Kavanaugh and Judge went up to a bedroom with Ford and they turned up the music to listen to. Then Kavanaugh tries to drunkenly make out with her, she objects, he covers her mouth to keep her from yelling, and then his buddy tackles him and they start wrestling and she leaves the bedroom and never says anything to anyone about it for decades.17 and 15 years old. Hardly worthy(even if true) of not letting a guy who has been a stand up citizen his whole adult life, become a Supreme court judge.
Now fast forward 36 years later and Ford is a California Democrat, a 2017 Bernie Sanders donor, she attended the March for Science, she signed a letter protesting Trump immigrant-detention policies, and attended the Women’s March and right before Kavanaugh gets confirmed, (keep in mind he’s a person that a sitting U.S. Senator thinks women will die, along with many others, if he gets confirmed,) this erroneous story comes out and no one has come out and confirmed any of it.
Mind boggling stuff.
If the incident 30 years ago happened the way you say, I (along with most people) wouldn’t fault the man at all. HOWEVER, I (along with most people) would fault him for bold face lying to Congress about it.
She doesn’t remember many details. Why would he? Didn’t she claim she only had 1 beer but the guys were drunk?
His categorical and complete denial looks real bad and looks like a weak excuse if it somehow comes out that something did happen.
You seem awfully sure, but have nothing close to the full story. I think you should wait for her to present her story before you develop such an outspoken opinion.

Some may feel that the Kavanaugh delay is tit for tat for the Garland delay. However, in both cases the Republicans had control of the Senate. They could have stalled Garland indefinitely(until the balance of power changed) for no reason at all. There were no “stall” tactics beyond just saying “No, we have control of the Senate and don’t want to hold that vote.” The Democrats are in a minority right now, so they actually have to have tactics to stall something.
In reality things still had to be sold to their constituents. So stall tactics WERE used by both sides. The GOP just didn’t have to. They did it for the optics of appearing above water
Edit: and hell. The GOP could force a vote tomorrow. They have a majority everywhere. They just don’t because the optics

Ok, so the accused having to testify first, before the accuser even fully makes her accusations in testimony to the committee, seems like a complete non-starter.
This ‘request’ (for the sake of argument) seems odd. It wouldn’t be surprising if the committee was considering the use of female counsel in order to to keep this from turning into male committee members grilling a woman alleging to be a victim. Which seems agreeable if protecting her from such a traumatic experience was the priority.
Instead it seems as if her team wants that. At least the ‘optics’ of it.
