TV has ruined tge public’s expectations for the judicial system and lawyers in general. It takes time to gather facts, do your own research, and then prep a witness. It’s not like the lawyer doesn’t have other clients and opposing counsel/judges expecting things for other cases too.
As for why she would need a lawyer… Seriously? You think testifieing before a high profile, hostile Senate committee is a good idea without first being fully prepared by a lawyer?
How many of the senators that question her will be lawyers in their past life? Haha. Lawyers WILL question her, and lawyers WILL be part of each senators prep team. Make no mistake.
Well, my discomfort is in actually trying to be open to the possibility of her telling the truth, while also keeping in mind that someone is being accused of attempted rape here. Not some position on an issue, a bias. Attempted rape.
The timing and manner, the lack of details (except for 3 of 4 people who were allegedly there, who’ve all denied being at such a party) open to follow up, seems bizarre.
The Senate needs to do ITS investigation. It is the responsible body. And it did alot the summer to vet Kavanaugh. They literally watched that process tick off…Keep that in mind. They watched it slip past. Let it slip past…And she’s the one who doesn’t want an independent counsel to sub in for the Senators on the committee, remember?
Well, actually, due to kavanaughs dumb statement, the issue now is if ANY kind of sexual encounter happened.
I’m waiting for testimony to form an opinion on what if anything happened. All this other stuff is SOP for lawyers and politicians.

It’s dumb that he widened the target that she has to hit in her testimony. Dumb dumb dumb.
This isn’t some criminal the state is after and now they have to negotiate with a witness. This is is someone who already made an accusation and laid out the details. There’s not a criminal trial. Does she want Kavanaugh’s nomination to be put on hold for a long period? That’s the end game. There’s no trial. Show up, give some credible details that the committee can then actually try to follow up on.
The accused to testify first, what?
Or, maybe he flat out knows there’s nothing there. The guys is a respected Judge, I think he know’s how to frame a denial depending on the circumstances.
I think you need to separate Her from Her Team. Her Team is REQUESTING all this to create the most advantageous situation for their client. It would be negligent not to.
Where has she laid out ALL the details of her claim? You don’t think any more info or insight can be gained from her testimony?
And I’m sitting here saying, really? That few people at the alleged party and nobody has stepped up to say, ‘I think that was my house.’ Or, ‘I was there when they were.’ Nobody?
After 3 decades? You genuinely expect anyone with a pulse to knowingly insert themself into this shit show?

Ok, so no witness. Well, the people she has named have so far all denied even being at such a party. We don’t know the house, the date (not even the year solidly, from my understanding). We know a county, maybe.
So you aren’t curious to hear her, herself be asked these same questions?
