Now this is interesting, @Powerpuff…!

I think I told you before that I have some good LDS friends…(really fun, “Salt of the Earth” folks…!)

Now (tell me if this is wrong!)

My understanding from them is that the University of Utah actually has more LDS students (total number) than BYU. (Which is interesting, if true).

Does the UofU have the same" Honor Code"?
Would this group hire students from the UofU?

I think that this is where these kinds of “Boycotts” get off-the-rail.

Just hire people because they can do the Job you need for them to do.

(@anon71262119; went to a BYU game with my friends once. TERRIBLE fans! LOL!)

No, they don’t.

But what does openly practice mean? How do you practice homosexuality? Knowing someone is gay is not the same as knowing what he does in the bedroom.

Is homosexuality a lifestyle? All gays follow the same rules or something?

Why wouldn’t being an unwed mother be a choice? She could have gotten an abortion.

You wrote practicing openly.

No one is asking the government to decide on the morality of the issue, but the legality.

This requires a response. No, the 1A does not embody a right to do whatever you want in commerce - the right to “peaceably assemble” does not create a free pass against regulation of commerce, never has.

No.

Kinda hope people like her stick around for a while. It’s hard to play Whack-a-bigot without a flare or 2

They are as guilty of fundamentalism as the religious people they target.

Oh! @EyeDentist!

Picked me up some Carrot Cake from Wally World this morning! (Ummmmmmm…!)

(Just a joking aside between me and @EyeDentist!)

Give me an example when I can’t discriminate in private matters.

I don’t know if you ever talked about that, but I’m glad the people you know are genuinely nice. Not all of us are. Some us have a fairly broad mean streak. That’s self-effacing humor, if you didn’t notice.

U of U - Student population of 32,770 and about 50% of the student body is LDS.

BYU - Student population of 33,500 and about 98.5% of the student body is LDS.

They are our big rival school, so let me add that BYU has an average ACT score of 29, compare to a sad ACT of only 25 at the U of U. Lol. We used to be good at football, but BYU has been just abysmal in recent years so we have to out nerd them when we can!

No. It’s a public university. No religious code. They may have student honor codes related to plagarism and cheating, or things of that nature. Not related specifically to living one’s religion. BYU is always voted the “most stone cold sober school.” There are no codes about drinking at the U of U. Hopefully that helps.

@ Hiring practices and boycotts. It’s often not hard to spot an LDS job applicant. Slightly more modest dress, language skills and years serving missions in foreign countries often give us away.

In your private business, you cannot fire someone for being black.

Define private. You can buy whatever fat% milk you want.

Fun fact, there’s a recruiter at work that has said as much (save the modest dress, he doesn’t do the face to face interview). We have a couple accounts where they’d be ranked as higher value than vets if you could ‘officially’ do stuff like that.

. .the male teacher who suddenly talks about his husband while telling the class a story…

How is that openly practicing homosexuality?

I’m not sure what that means. And why doesn’t he do face to face interviews?

How is the homosexual teacher talking talking about his homosexual marriage him being open about his homosexual lifestyle in a Catholic High school? That is your question?
