You obviously did not understand what I was saying.
When I said understandable, I meant that I could see as to why the parents would do something like that. It doesn’t make the action right, but I can understand the reasonings.

I never stated it wasn’t racist you goofball
What’s illogical is comparing the actions of a child with the actions of parents.
Confused here you don’t think the action is right but think the parents are doing a great thing?
It was to show outrage when a white child does something regarding a black doll, which is similar to what the parents in the article want to do (throw it away)
Then respectfully what the fuck are we disagreeing about?
Depends on the context. I am white, but I have a black friend that has called me that before, but not in a negative way. I am cool with it if used like that. In a way, it was kinda inclusive the way he used it.
I think context matters a lot though. I have an Australian friend that uses the word cunt a lot. Like “your a good cunt”. Doesn’t bother me. I have mentioned to him before that he needs to be careful with that one around American women, as they might not appreciate the word even if it is not used as an insult.
That’s cultural appropriation. Repent.
It doesn’t make it racist either.
It’s a doll, not a person. It really isn’t whatever race it’s pretending to be. Is it going to file a case with the ACLU or something?
Besides, I think people are using the term racist rather loosely.
It is give and take. I saw him the other day with what looked to be close to an ancient Norse hairstyle. So I guess I can be called the N word and he can copy my ancestor’s hairstyles.
Your privilege is showing. I’m sure black people feel better now that they have your permission.
I’ve seen on the internet that some are upset with white people wearing traditional Norse hair styles.
I could be wrong, but I have my doubts that the Norse people appropriated that style from the Africans of the time.
I wouldn’t give a fuck because it’s just a word.
I’m aware in 2022 that mean words are confused for violence, but i don’t share this confusion with the rest of my generation (millenials).
I so agree. They are terrifying and cause me great harm.
I’m trying to imagine what Norse hairstyle a black guy could have. I guess I never thought of Vikings as having “hairstyles,” plural. Normally it’s just a long mane in movies.
Dreads and cornrows (or something very similar to cornrows) were worn by the vikings. It is called cultural appropriation for white people to wear them because it is seen as a black hairstyle. The people who make these claims ignore the other cultures that have worn them in the past.
I think basically every group of people at one point wore dreads. It is kinda what happens if you don’t bathe much. I have had a natural dread form in my hair while on a camping trip.

Tagging some folks who I know have a thing for vikings
@mnben87 @TrainForPain (feel free to tag anyone else I’ve missed)
I’d add “and blood”
My google image search for viking hair styles.
It appears a few hipsters slipped into the google algorithm. Also, I don’t know how google got my picture (see bottom right).
This is exactly what I’m talking about. They’re literal hipster haircuts these days, except that hipsters tend to not have beards.
I guess to be fair, the decendents of most vikings are now socialists so perhaps ‘hipster’ is semi-accurate ![]()
