If the price goes up, they are a bit harder to get for the low end consumer. I’m thinking perhaps less of the people that we don’t want to have them won’t be able to afford them. For that to happen though, price would have to go up a few hundred in the low end guns. I think a lot of criminals are on the poorer side.
We are presently in a period of rapid inflation and skyrocketing housing costs. Let’s imagine we pass some law that limits the supply of semi-automatic rifles. Tax them out of existence, initiate confiscation via the Orwellian term “buy backs”, you-name-it.
You’ve now dramatically increased the value of the tens of millions of semi-automatic firearms currently in circulation that are completely untraceable. All during a time where this administration is deliberately raising gas prices to force Americans into electric cars that don’t meet their needs.
If you want a robust black market for firearms, by all means, charge ahead with whatever the progressives are suggesting for policy.

While I agree in part, I also think used guns will go up in price if that happens. People will be more willing to sell their guns. I agree there, but like we have seen with used cars, increase in price for new will make used more as well.
Why do you think this? Unless “the people that we don’t want to have them” is everyone. Aren’t most of the true mass shooters still upper middle class, white guys?
That’s my argument for a poll tax! People who I don’t want to vote won’t be able to afford it!

No one said trans people ought to be treated as the boogeyman, but that also doesn’t mean they ought to be mainstreamed into your children’s brain without your permission or knowledge.
The purpose of school should be math, science, history and reading/language.
If these teachers had focussed more on history, they’d know that every supersociety such suffered a societal collapse became obsessed with gender before collapsing. It stems from an inability to determine truth from fiction, and the errosion of a society’s history. Sound familiar?
I hope you get to enjoy the wonders of being a parent one day. Your kids become your favorite people in the world and you’d do anything to protect them. I don’t need my 5 year old daughter learning about any genders except male and female. I think that’s pretty reasonable considering her understanding of “boy” and “girl” begins and ends at “boys look and act like boys” and “girls look and act like girls”. Anyone except the parent teaching this stuff to children is out of line frankly.

You’re misunderstanding me. Anyone except the parents teaching children about gender or sexuality is out of place. Additionally, any gender but male or female is 100% a social construct and has no objective marker other than what an individual believes. This being the case…
If YOU don’t believe in scientology, but your child’s teacher does - and they low key teach scientology concepts to your children while they are in school (without your permission), this inherently goes against your beliefs and wishes for your children. I don’t see any valid argument as to why that should be allowed.
