The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Okok. I already said I didn’t bother to go check out the entire tweet feed(is this what you call it?).

All I’m saying is, other than what I said about politicians in general, AOC has been one of the most high profile ones in the news and social media and she says a lot of really dumb shit so I’m just gonna assume it’s either nonsense or hyperbole.

EDIT:

To be clear, it’s very simple to me.

If someone “cries wolf” too many times, don’t expect people to take them seriously when the real shit happens.

If the tweet from the original poster was posted instead, I’d probably take more interest in it.

Disregarding the fact that AOC retweeted it, it looks pretty dumb to me at face value. But it would be reasonable for me to have some amount of suspicion based off her past behaviour because she retweeted AND included a retort for her fanbase, don’t you think?

That’s not the question that was even asked of her. The question was whether or not she supported gain of function research. She said she didn’t believe in conducting that kind of research, partly because of her religious belief in creationism. Nowhere did she indicate she believes anything remotely close to what you posted, which is that deadly diseases didn’t exist in Biblical times.

I disagree with her religious ideas, but I don’t see any need to put words in her mouth. You can attack creationist ideas without lying about someone. Well, I can. Maybe you can’t.

Here’s the video YOU pointed us to with the link.

You’re drawing that implication, not her. I didn’t hear anything she said that implied such a thing. Nor are there any beliefs creationists hold that imply the impossibility of viruses occurring in nature. Regardless, this “logical inference” you’re drawing is quite a leap from what you originally posted, which was a bald-faced lie that Greene doesn’t believe there were deadly diseases in Biblical times.

You keep doubling-down on deception, lies and mischaracterizing others arguments. You do it here all the time. No wonder you’re a leftist. You sure know how to live your truth.

When someone like her says, “I believe in God so I don’t believe in evolution,” it doesn’t sound like a spontaneous thought but a constructed appeal to the uneducated evangelicals who are probably a large part of her base. Does she really believe it? I think at the very least she is unaware that many Christian denominations, including the Catholic Church, have said that evolution is settled science and that it is not incompatible with belief in God. Again, she is speaking to uneducated Christians.

Lol. I think the gist of my post could apply to her as well. She claimed suburbs don’t have cops, in spite of growing up in one. Does she really believe it?

Haha, ok so I actually went to read the article because of you guys and got my mind blown.

Thanks a lot, guys.

EDIT:

But, seriously, I don’t trust anything politicians say completely, even the “good” ones. I’ll admit some lie for the bigger picture so they can get enough support to really change the system for the better and few might have really done the latter but we’re all still being constantly sold bullshit.

What she’s saying: Greene leaned on religion to explain the origins of the coronavirus. “Why is there any need to create a virus that could spread rapidly to a population, to make people sick and kill them? That is a bioweapon,” she said.

  • Greene noted she doesn’t support so-called “gain-of-function research,” in which lab technicians modify a virus to develop vaccines and other medications.
  • “I don’t buy it because I don’t believe in evolution,” the freshman Republican from Georgia added. “I don’t believe in that type of so-called science. I don’t believe in evolution, I believe in God.”

This sounds like the fucking dumbass, self-contradicting plot to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Correction: It makes more fucking sense than that steaming pile of crap. At least she’s being logically consistent.

:joy: :joy: :joy:

AOC was either to lazy to read the article before commenting or she’s just riding on another poster’s stupidity to diss this idiot. Either way, she’s also an idiot. So’s the poster whose tweet she retweeted.

What I think she(Greene) is implying is that the bible is ALREADY full of plagues and pestilence and shit. It’s part of the Natural Order or whatever the fuck it’s called and she doesn’t support fucking with it and/or doesn’t believe in the fact that something from this “Natural Order” can be modified through science, i.e, causing it to “evolve”.

Thus, you wouldn’t be able, or even need, to “accidently” create a new one through modifying the original SARS strain and have it leak to cause a worldwide pandemic so it’s obviously a man made “bioweapon” that has nothing to do with the original SARS strain based on her version of probability.

According to her logic, if it’s not a bioweapon, it just means we’re being smitten by God yet again.

9/10 for the lolz.

The entire Portland Police Bureau Rapid Response Team voted to disband their group after a grand jury indicted one of their officers for allegedly striking an Antifa rioter last summer.

Good job Portland.

I was there for two weeks during the height of the riots last year during the “hate the federal buildings” theme. Not on the front lines, just a RFT , if terrorist’s or nutcases started to employ serious weapons. From my limited knowledge of the city administration, I don’t know how in the hell they get anyone to work for the PD. A true petri dish incompetent wokeissim .

Didn’t Portland defund the police, resulting in somewhat of an uptick in violent crime (shocker!)? Or am I thinking of a different city

Though I believe polling was indicative the majority of residents in Portland wanted police presence maintained as opposed to decreased.

I can’t get behind defunding the police. Some semblance of reform (referring to Aus, don’t know of specific legislature in USA) sure, but we need a body of civil workers who can respond to and confine the more dangerous elements of society.

Otherwise it’s a free for all, wherein those who totally disregard human life might as well prosper as they’ll literally do whatever they can to get what they want.

If the police force was truly corrupt I could understand advocating for abolition, but the issue isn’t systemic. A few lone wolves (Wolves in sheep’s clothing that is) shouldn’t equate to the entire force being dismissed.

Singer Macy Gray argues US needs a ‘new flag’ to replace ‘tattered, dated, divisive’ Old Glory

She argued that Old Glory has “replaced” the Confederate flag, implying it is a symbol of racism.

Was it a symbol of racism to all those that died on the beaches of Normandy? who died at Pearl Harbor? Who died in the attacks on 9/11? Do you want me to go on? There are hundreds of examples?

“It no longer represents ALL of us,” Gray wrote. “It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag.”

No one is " forced to honor the flag" in America . You certainly don’t have too, you even have the right to move to Iran and die for their flag. I think it would be a good character building situation.

“It no longer represents ALL of us. It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag.”

Really? That flag and the countess who died for it, allows you spew forth you shit.

She went on to say a new flag should have 52 stars, with the new pair representing Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

She claimed both the U.S. territory in the Caribbean and the nation’s capital city deserve statehood and that the supposed purity and innocence represented by the flag’s white stripes is a fallacy.

That is one of most incredible stupid statement , I have ever read.

“America is great,” she wrote. “It is beautiful. Pure, it ain’t. It is broken and in pieces.”

Yep, even an racist idiot can find a nugget of truth, I agree, people like you are destroying the country.

She suggested the stripes could be off-white and the stars the “colors of ALL of us — your skin tone and mine.”

Not fair, I work outside a lot, my skin is tanned brown, but, I was born an evil white man, will it represent me?

“It’s time for a reset, a transformation. One that represents all states and all of us.”

The flag represents the United States of America, not the states, states have their own flags.

I have carefully considered your position of replacing our flag and have only this short reply.

FUXK YOU.

Moving on to more stupid shit:

Really love brilliant politicians who leave children open to mass shooters. Hey, the days of active shooters in schools is over with, who knew?

Now for the brilliant scam of stealing of COVID funds to hire ex-gang bangers for protection. Damn, that is who I want watching my back.

Yeah, tell that to the 54th MA Infantry.

Yes, it is a fallacy but not how she thinks. No one knows why those three colors were chosen when the flag was originally constructed. The reasons we are given came after the flag had already been made.

Yes, we should replace the American flag with a blank slate… Just no colour or shade as to not accidentally offend anyone.

Let’s get rid of the flag all-together, some people have vexiphobia!

I don’t really care about what flag a country decides to fly so long as a given flag isn’t associated with a regime responsible for the conduction of countless atrocities/human rights violations (not a fan of the Nazi flag, confederate flag etc, but from what I know no nation currently uses them on a federal or state level).

If one is to change the American flag, there ought to be a good reason for doing so. America to my belief isn’t systemically racist.

I’m not sure if you are referring to the American flag or the confederate flag? The confederates lost the war hundreds of years ago… Flying a confederate flag in my opinion isn’t a display of patriotism, it’s fighting or signifying devotion towards a lost cause that advocated for slavery and segregation. The American flag on the other hand… No, that’s not a symbol of racism.

The American flag is used to symbolise the United states, one of only 31% of countries that can be categorised as a democracy (albeit it has been designated as a flawed one since 2016). The American way/values, both mainstream progressive and mainstream conservative don’t idolize, encourage or promote racism. Perhaps those who talk this kind of shit ought to be complaining about the middle east where a statistical majority harbour Anti-Semitic attitudes and discriminatory beliefs towards western society.

The United States of America Flag.

Wrong. Wokeism says colorblindness is bad.

Since a flag of no color would be black and a flag of all color would be white, l suggest we either go with a clear flag or just go ahead and outlaw flags as being symbols of hate.

Sorry @unreal24278
Kinda stepped on your thoughts after l read your post.

So, what’s worse?

Some cunt singer most of us have never heard of made a ridiculous suggestion about our nation’s flag (unwittingly stoking the Rightwing Rage Machine)…

or people actually reacted to it (no they didn’t react - they pissed their collective britches over it) as if it had a snowballs chance of happening. For some reason they had Faux News on a TV above where I deadlift at the gym, and the entire panel was having a fucking grande mal seizure over it. Every time I glanced up in between sets, there they were in a fauxpatriot circle-jerk about the same goddamn topic. 20 minutes of valuable network time, and for what? Hell, you probably pissed away an hour of your life composing your post. That’s a lot of spit-balling for some lame musings of a niche entertainer.

It was another affirming moment in time to my axiom of why humanity is really doomed: When someone acts like a fool/idiot/asshole, the reaction from detractors will rise up to surpass it.

Outrage culture is all the rage.

Snowflakes meltdown easily.

Etc, etc, etc.
