The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

All started by elements from the upper middle class.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response, it makes more sense to me than anything else I have read.

totally agree with your analysis.

agree. have seen this multiple times in Africa and the Middle East.

Lol. Going have to steal and use this somehow. Maybe the next time someone does something really stupid on the firing line, I am going to yell out, "What are you? A vegan Nazi? lol, probably be accused of being a racist.

This guy knew how to string 'em together!

Outstanding post, and it aggravates me to no end that they put the cart before the horse. Teaching values and morals is EXACTLY the way to help someone have good social and emotional health (unless you’re an asshole in the way you do it).

Fucking LOL. If it’s not falsifiable, then it’s shit. It just means “whatever I (who is in power of the woke movement at the time) want it to mean”.

At which point anyone should directly ask the question: “why should I give a flying fuck what you think if I’m damned both ways?”. Ironically, even if, somehow, this were remotely true (LOL)
this directly hardens people against their goals–they have no incentive to agree. Obviously they’re not debating anyone–this shit would get exposed.

This is why people with things to hide speak in obscure terms and language.

The best lies are always clothed in a thin skin of the truth. Start with something plausible, then get progressively more asinine

This is why I said it’s Orwellian; they are using words to govern how you think.

The French Revolution, and they made the country immeasurably worse.

The US Revolution was barely one. Happy 4th all the same, colonial cousins!

You are what you eat.

Those were two I was thinking of. Neither seemed to mesh with @Mufasa’s idea of true revolution, which is why I asked for examples.

Ah, I see. I don’t believe in true revolution, for the reason @loppar articulated. The closest things I can think of to ‘suffering leading to revolution’ actually aren’t revolutions.

The US civil rights movement wasn’t a revolution, the NI civil rights movement wasn’t a revolution. Both were reformations.

(NI going revolutionary, again, made things worse)

Serious question for people who think the US had a true revolution. Why does your Senate have a sergeant at arms? Why do you have a speaker of the house? Why do you have an upper chamber? (that was unelected for most of its existence).

Hell, you’re only missing the black rod to have a U.K. parliament. The main difference is you bought into that absurd notion of separate powers, which came from a Frenchman observing (incorrectly) the U.K. system.

Well, it would be asking too much for us to kick ALL the bad habits of the old world simultaneously

That and a shadow government

The question I would ask is, which nation is more powerful right now? Then again, had there been no revolution,we would all have free health care, lower priced college, footb
I mean soccer, kebabs and curries.

This is way beyond stupid, this is unbelievably, morally wrong. The city of Richmond, Virginia ordered a large American Flag taken down on the 4th of July.

Virginia state officials ordered the removal of an American flag from the construction site in Richmond, citing concerns that the flag would become a “target” for protesters this Fourth of July.

What? your spineless city government cannot even protect the symbol of our nation? You bow and kiss the ass of any and all protesters? Richmond has a police force, Virginia has a state police force and you are telling the world you cannot protect our flag? You fucking cowards.

" Winston said that the flag originally went up with the approval from Gilbane Building Company, the project’s general manager. The company then received a call from state officials requesting they take it down.

What “state officials” ? You mean the Governor? Lt. Governor? Comptroller? tax commissioner? Commander of the state police? Who the fuck called you? Name them, I want to know who the traitorous bastards are.

“The American Flag is a symbol of Freedom! Many men and women died to maintain this freedom, many more fought and still fight to keep this freedom, and you make us remove it??”

Well two things here, brother. First, no one during this age of Woke cares how many died for the flag and what it represents. Two, when I get time, I am going to research Virginia law. The statement was " requesting" it being taken down. It was on “your” construction project, so, did they actually have the power (by law) to make you take it down?

This smells like extortion from “state officials”. You either take the flag down or we will cancel you construction contract, you want your employees to get paid, right? Don’t make them suffer because you are some type of outdated patriot.

Yeah, it does. Permits and whatnot are always on the table, and there is no point at which any number of different types of inspectors can’t walk in, find any given violation and shut the job down.

“We’re asking nicely, don’t make us ask again.”.
