The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

So, ‘powers’ are synonymous with ‘natural rights’? Hmm…

Doesn’t that kind of imply they considered their enumerated list (of natural rights, not powers) to be exhaustive?

Then why write the clause?

Well, as I said, the clause concerns powers, not rights.

Note the “or to the people” phrase. What is a power held by a citizen? A right.

As far as I know, the Bill of Rights was included to gather approval for the Constitution. It was intended to unambiguously limit the federal government. The Constitution doesn’t mention natural rights, by name or otherwise(as best I can recall right now).

Actually, it’s primarily referring to the police powers of the state:

It looks like we are having the same argument the founders already had.

BOR came after the Constitution.

???

Of course. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be Amendments. I believe Virginia and New York ratified only after the promise of an addition of a bill of rights. I believe Rhode Island and North Carolina ratified after the Bill of Rights.

Did the link not work? There was a summary of federalists vs anti federalists. One argued that there should be an explicit statement of natural rights in the constitution, just like in the declaration of independence. The other argued that the constitution itself is a declaration of natural rights, i.e. self determination.

Then there’s declarationism. Which holds that the DoI is US law and informs how we interpret the constitution. There are SCOTUS decisions that support that view.

@NickViar and @Basement_Gainz. Maybe this will help you to not be such a couple of stupids when it comes to understanding taxes. Ya’ll are about to get a big F on the midterm.

I thought about how Pelosi recently told everyone that you can’t yell “Wolf” in a crowded theater, but this is more depressing.

More than one in three people (37%) could not name a single right protected by the First Amendment. THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

Only one in four (26%) can name all three branches of the government. (In 2011, 38% could name all three branches.)

One in three (33%) can’t name any branch of government. None. Not even one.

All of this is wildly depressing. Tbh these numbers could all be doubled (in favor of smert people) and they’d still be wildly depressing.

I cannot even with the victimhood mindset of that acronym. “Subordinate-group individual” = someone who knows their place. Lmao.

Yes. Thanks. This is a textbook called Racial and Ethnic Groups, 2014, published by Prentice Hall. It’s in it’s 14th edition, so you know it’s full of eternal truths.

BTW, if you’re thinking about dropping the class, it’s mandatory for ALL majors, you big dum dums.

In terms of its encapsulation of the socioeconomic dilemma facing SGIs, is there something so obviously flawed about the figure that it deserves the derision you seem to feel for it? If so, please point it out, as it is escaping me.

Don’t worry. You’re going to get an A+.

Please notice the race of the taxpayer. Please notice the complete lack of agency of the SGI. All roads lead to failure, as the attitudes of the white tax payer have doomed the SGI. America is one big failure loop.
