It was in response to AOC. She said NYC was giving Amazon 3 billion. I really don’t know what the deal was. But I doubt it wasn’t better for Amazon than it was for NYC.

I’ve been watching that unfold and haven’t believed a single bit of his story.
With the old hate crime types I knew, you didn’t go to the hospital to be treated and released. You stayed there for a while. He didn’t have injuries. He had souvenirs.
With fake hate crimes there should be a law of inverse proportion. If you fake a hate crime, you get the penalty of the crime you faked.

I figured this was just a standard mugging, which often include “racist and homophobic slurs” regardless of the race or sexuality of the victim. They beat you up, they take your wallet, they call you names.
I figured he was just trying to make the most out of it for the free publicity, didn’t think he would actually set the whole thing up himself. I guess my tinfoil hat isn’t on right enough.
I guess there was a paradigm shift a while back when it comes to crazy. Crazy is the new normal,and the old normal is now crazy.
Media narratives like this apparent hoax, Covington and Kavanaugh are natural byproducts of demand for white male racist behavior exceeding the supply.
They still get the views, the clicks and the money, so it makes perfect sense to give these non-stories tons of coverage.

A friend of mine in high school was accused of a hate crime. Somewhat believable because he was a bastard and well known to the police. Problem is, it was a hoax. His neighbors daughter made the whole thing up and committed the vandalism on their own house herself, because he refused to buy her a carton of smokes.
He lost a few teeth over that false accusation. I got into a few scuffles right next to him. It’s not like yelling fire in a movie theater. It’s like yelling “Get those white motherfuckers!”.
There is no real recourse or consequence to these false claims. That really needs to change.

Shit, some of the best meetings I’ve had with supervisors/mentors were done while we went for a walk. It gets the blood flowing and creative juices open up, etc. etc.
