The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Part Confession, Part Stupid Thread (due to tactics) - Local election for board positions, two new board members on a 7 person board, they ran a smear campaign with the basic message that the underlings were too scared to say something to the administration running the entity, and that the board was too spineless to rein in the administration that they are supposed to be in charge of. Basically everyone (except these two running) are spineless and that they’ll fix the problem. Well they’ve now been elected to the board. The stupid part is that they’ve quite possibly fucked any productive relationship by calling people out personally through this smear campaign, and the confession part is that I genuinely hope to watch them crash and burn when they get in and aren’t able to deliver on their promises because they actually have to stay within a budget and make hard choices about what gets cut and what doesn’t. Super excited to hear what they have to say when reality smacks them in the goddamn mouth.

Edit: Simply needed a good vent, and it being a small town…well…yeah, ha! I get this is how democracy works, but …shit.

Nice … I’ll be out there intermittently working on a project … if time works out let’s coordinate and grab a beer and chat

The woman he punched was a suffragette who talks over you while you try to buy things at a shop.

You can kill all the hookers in GTA. But don’t punch a 19th century womens rights worker. Haha.

The insane part of this is no real person was punched. At all. It’s a collection of pixels that move and mimic how they’re programmed and played to. It’s not real, yet people seem to believe it is real … these people need to get a grip on reality…

It’s funny, I do recall riding into the town furthers SE (forget the name Saint something) and the first thing I heard was a suffragette and my initial thought was ā€œJesus, lady, just shut the fuck upā€¦ā€

Yeah. There was a really good medieval game ealrier this year that they tried to make super realistic. Everything about it was awesome, except they were trying to explain 1413 politics of Pope and anti Pope and which kings brother is supposed to rule yadda yadda. I normally love history, but when you present it as politics (the characters in the game are legit pissed) I’m out.

Seemed to be he hog-tied her, fed her to something, and kicked her in the head. Still silly.

Also, it was probably a temp auto ban from reports and dislikes. His account is already back up

Yeah. Who reports that though? Like who is watching someone else play violent Rockstar videogames and then has a problem with violence?

Eh it’s the internet. Someone going out of there way to intentionally bait people into controversy is gonna get reported.

Trolls or overly sensitive-types who are disjointed from reality

iirc, female gamers actually outnumber male gamers and I think that’s true for streaming too. So, it’s not that surprising it got reported. It’s just ridiculous.

Ehhhhhhhhhh

This sounds like an internet statistic.

Not saying there aren’t girl gamers, but I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time playing Vidya games.

Edit: and everyone knows girls don’t play video games. Just like they don’t poop

I just remember reading it… Looks like Statista has it roughly 55/45 men to women.

Wow. That’s an insanely surprising number to me.

Makes a lot more sense that he’d be reported after baiting that many people into the controversy.

I wonder if this counts mobile games. Heck even my mom who is pushing 70 plays mobile games.
