WTF are you talking about? Iran has, repeatedly, stated its intent to destoy Israel. They are “calling their shot.”

Iran has an aggressive missle program.

Iran has a an aggressive nuclear program, for which there is no purpose other than to build a weapon. (Think about it for a second. Iran is sitting on giant natural gas reserves, for which there is no meaningful export market. Enough to generate electricty for generations. Gas power is cheap, clean, and proven. ZERO reason to go nuclear – unless you want a bomb.)

When someone: (1) says there are going to kill you; (2) previously and readily killed others basically because they are religious nutcases (3) and proceeds to take steps whose only logical purpose is to kill you — that’s not a “perceived notion.”

It’s logic.

Correction, it’s willful insanity to believe the Iranians are up to anything but building nukes.
The fact that ANYONE can miss that ^ can only mean they have their heads buried. Iran is no less obviously a threat now than Germany was in early 1939.
See this is what I am talking about! Germany wasn’t a threat, all they wanted was a little piece. A little piece of Poland, a little piece of France, a little piece of Czechoslovakia, a little piece of Russia, etc.
If everybody just gave the Germans everything they wanted, there would have been no reason for all that violence.

Oh that was taken out of context! When he said Israel needed to be wiped off the map, he was just referring to a map of Tehran.

Oh yeah, well Israel has a bomb, Iran just wants to defend themselves. They are tired of being nosed out by a bunch of Jews…

Nu uh, when someone says they want to kill you, you obviously must have done something wrong, otherwise why would they be mad. I mean, like Israel is all their and shit. How dare they be there? I mean, they should, just like move, because people don’t like them. And people don’t like them because they are all Jewish and shit and everybody hates Jews because they are Jewish, so like every jew deserves to die because they are jewish.
I mean, if the Jews would stop being Jewish, then the Iranians wouldn’t hate them so much. It’s there fault being all Jewish. If Israel really wanted peace they would kill themselves or move and give everything to the Palestinians. That’s all they have to do, is give everything to the Palestinians and leave and then people wouldn’t hate them anymore…

The economics of plentiful natural gas (which Iran has in overabundance) vs. nuclear power (which it has no uranium) a very good point I really hadn’t thought of.

Chasing the most expensive power per kilowatt hour (nuclear) when you have plenty of the cheapest power per kilowatt hour (gas) makes the lie that the purpose of the nuke plant is “peaceful” beyond painfully obvious.

Don’t expect the MSM to cover that, though.

You know, you could work for the Obama adminstration! Or at least the BBC!

(Yes, I know you are writing satire.)

Another thing to look at is the equipment the Iranians are using in their nuclear program. The specs for centrifuges they claim to have built to use in the enrichment process are way beyond what is needed for reactor fuel, but are perfect for enriching uranium to weapon’s grade. The difference in the cost to build a centrifuge specifically for reactor fuel and weapon’s grade uranium is significant so it would make no sense to design and build the more powerful and expensive centrifuges if they did not plan on using it to enrich their uranium to weapon’s grade, and there is no reason to produce weapon’s grade uranium if you do not plan on building a bomb.

There certainly is plenty of antagonism to go around on all fronts - that’s for sure.
Although I’ve been no fan of Obama, I actually admired his cooler-head on this issue, especially in light of having Netanyaho and AIPAC in his face trying to bully the U.S. into an Israel-Iran conflict. I’m impressed and grateful Obama didn’t buckle. Perhaps others in this forum have a ~let’s go get them~ attitude, but I for one, am weary of war. I think the U.S. is a little too broke and busted up for that right now. And not for nothing, but the current U.S. military commanders don’t feel it’s in our best interest to act on this now either.

I’m sure most of you who are so fluent in history already know this, but today I learned that Israel has already taken out nuclear installations that they have previously felt ‘existentially’ threatened by: Iraq in 1981 and Syria in 2007. Of course, there are both critics and fans of such activity. At any rate, Israel got their boogeyman … real or imagined, and they can and will go it alone. Here’s an interesting read on the 1981 Israeli strike of Iraq: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/an-israeli-attack-against-iran-would-backfire--just-like-israels-1981-strike-on-iraq/2012/02/28/gIQATOMFnR_story_2.html

It’s not even necessarily about fluency in history. Believe it or not, some of us are so frickin old that we literally and distinctly remember these events happening.

So what you just learned today we actually lived through and don’t have to Google in order to be informed.
LOL So THAT explains it! I kinda remember Desert Storm, but barely. Mostly that it was quick and successful (so I was told). My kind of war.

I was going to tag it as sarcasm, but then I wanted to see if anybody would think I was serious…It was even hard to write that garbage mockingly. I cannot see how some folks could actually think like that.

When it comes to war, it’s merely a matter of when, not if. The region is ripe to explode and explode it will.

My thing I can’t even tell who is Jewish or Arab if they were standing side by side, soo why even fight?

Just guessing, I’m thinking the Jews fight to prevent being killed.

Having people bent on genocide attacking them seems to have made them pretty motivated to fight back.

Yeah, that was pretty epic.

Wait did someone compare Iran to Nazi Germany? I honestly don’t know what world some people live in.

Machine, that is a fabulous video. I have many Jewish friends and business associates. Most of them are democrats and as of this day not one of them said that they would support a second term. There are about 7 million Jewish (and Jewish decent) voters in the US. When Obama threw Israel under the bus he also lost most of those votes.
