The Second Presidential Debate

What do you mean? He has great policies. Tremendous polices. The best policies. He knows words, he has the best words, and he’s had great success, tremendous success. He pays hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes. Property taxes, business taxes, you name it, he’s paid it! So remember, he knows taxes tremendously well. Because of this he’ll create jobs. Great jobs. The best jobs. Incredible jobs that offer tremendous income to all kinds of Americans. He also is going to do a great job fighting ISIS. He knows more about ISIS than the generals do! He knows a tremendous amount about ISIS! He figured out that Barack Obama is the founder of ISIS, so when he becomes President he will appoint a special torturer to take Obummer to Gitmo and waterboard him until he’s spilled all of ISIS secrets. He’ll do a tremendous job. I mean, black people and minorities and white women, what do you have to lose? Hilary has been “doing this” for 30 years! She can’t do anything!

3am tweets ? Comment about Merkel’s face ?

LBJ was known to hold meetings while sitting on the toilet and exposing himself. Jimmy Carter claims to have seen a UFO on Larry King. James Polk ran his campaign with the promise he would not run for a 2nd term. FDR was once seen wearing a dress.

Why people do people have this holier than thou attitude about presidents ? Even the golden boy JFK had a sex ring going on while in the White House.

But Trump says the word “pussy” and the house comes falling down …

say nothing of domestic matters which I assume he is 100% ignorant on, can you imagine the 3am tweets that are going to go out about how he wouldnt bang Angela Merkel because of her fat face? I honestly think he has the potential to destroy US relations around the world, as least for many years until someone else gets in there. He has no clue how to be cordial and represent the country.[/quote]

He has spent decades negotiating deals with business leaders all around the world and people continually do business with him. On top of that, since he’s entered the political arena last June he’s met with several world leaders including the President of Mexico, PMs of Israel and Egypt and they all ended positively.

You’re just seeing what you want to see.

I’m not even convinced of his supposed strong stance on the 2nd or his SCOTUS picks being anything other than moderate to liberal.

Max, would you have voted for LBJ, Carter, and/or FDR if given the chance?

Really…?

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I’ve seen this defense a few times and it just has to stop. This isn’t just about saying “pussy” on a hot mic - let’s dispense with that bullshit right now. Trump did a whole lot more than “say the word pussy” in that video. One of the cleverest tactics the Trump camp could take on this is somehow zeroing on the word “pussy” (and dismissing this as “locker room talk”) as though that’s the faux pas in that video instead of the entire contents.

I am also surprised that this specific video has caused a riot, but for a different reason than your “What’s the big deal? Presidents aren’t saints” take; my reaction, as well as that of many Americans, is “Trump has been a consistently sexist, chauvinistic, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and utterly disgusting pig of a man who is in no way fit to be President. The video isn’t surprising; why was this the thing that tipped the scales?”

If everything you said in private conversations was put in the public eye, would we find out you’re a perfect saint?

You snipped my explanation.

The mental gymnastics that many Trump supporters put themselves through to justify having their mind made up already is nothing short of astounding

You are either intentionally trying to be obtuse, or you are too stupid to engage in debate with. In either case, its best that we just stop talking with you now.

Yes, there is nothing shocking about what Trump said on that tape when you factor in all the shit he has said over the years and throughout this campaign. Whether it was when he was on Howard Stern, or him bragging about his affairs, people already knew what Trump was about.

I don’t look to politicians to define moral upstanding behavior, that ship sailed on me many years ago. One of the differences between Trump and other politicians is that he has never tried to hide his womanizing ways. Why did this video tip the scales ? I don’t know that it has, we have to see how the electorate views it. I would add that, despite Bill Clinton’s philandering ways, he still has a pretty high approval rating, because he was seen as having a successful presidency.

You can say Trump is guilty of whatever you want, but defend the hypocrisy of Hillary and her bimbo eruptions squad, who terrorized the women who accused Bill of sexual assault. The champion of women’s rights, who threatened to crucify Gennifer Flowers if she could cross examine her. The defender of social justice, who once referred to black people as super predators. That is your Democratic nominee.

I’m trying to determine the standards to which we can use to assess what Trump said. If it’s okay to judge people by what they said in private conversations, who here isn’t sleazy?

I think this is kind of the point. People give Clinton a break because they view him as a successful and competent President. Same with JFK, FDR, and the others mentioned. Its not like people don’t realize we aren’t dealing with regular people with flaws and vices.

In Trump’s case, he displays a stark lack of knowlege for the job or desire to learn. On top of that, he doesn’t come off as a good guy with flaws and vices, but more of a flaunting blowhard who dares you to tell him that his way is the wrong way. But of course, he will meekly and sheepishly apologize (while pointing fingers at others) when people mostly universally condemn another one of his idiotic soundbites.

When you’re pretending to be an advocate for women, specifically the women associated with Bill, you don’t get to get caught bragging about how you jump right in grabbing genitals, getting away with it because you’re a celebrity. You also don’t get to pretend you haven’t trashed Bill’s women yourself (even calling Bill the victim) when it’s on the record.

Blame Trump the genius for deciding to go after a line of attack in which he himself would be vulnerable. Genius…

If what was said in private is admitting to sexual assault, than you can judge that person to think that sexual assault is, at least, an allowable action. And when that person is running for president it might be reasonable to infer that their policies about women might reflect that.

No one ever claimed they were a perfect saint, or that only a perfect saint should be running for president. That is the straw man you are putting forth. Now that this has been laid out explicitly for you if you continue to make this argument I refer to my previous statement.

The argument we are making is that his private conversations reveal his character and reveal his thought process on certain issues, which will likely make their way into his policies and the types of people he surrounds himself with in the government.

For example, When a bill comes across his desk seeking protections for women who have been sexually assaulted, he may veto it because “women like that stuff, they ask for it” or he may appoint a supreme court justice who supports certain decisions (like on a Roe v Wade style case for example)

I believe the quote is “No one respects women like I do”

I mean, it takes a certain type of individual to talk the way he does about them and then make that claim. Thats his personality in a nut shell right there. Complete disconnect from reality. He literally can’t imagine that another human being has more respect for women in general than he does, even after making the kind of statements he has.

Any of you guys NEVER talked sexually about: women, a woman, some female teacher, waitress, cheerleader in school, Fox news readers, your kid’s babysitter; when in private with your buds?
Or bragged about your lasting power, mojo, big unit, or other guy’s dinky tool, inability to get it up, lack of prowess?

Never even in privacy of tent, locker room, sporting event, golf course, car, or perhaps strip joint?

Not asking if it’s morally wrong or unseemly for prez candidate or damn who thought this going to be recorded and displayed 11 years later.

But never said it ever?

Of course we all have. We ALL have. It doesn’t matter. This is just the LATEST in a long string of dumb things Trump has let fall out of his mouth at one time or another. On top of the fact that we don’t feel he is capable of being a good President.

I’ve said some incredibly awful things (probably this week), but I can’t say I’ve ever talked about grabbing a woman by the pussy without her permission.

I’m also not nor do I ever intend on running for office…

I also don’t think this is that big a deal, but see it this way:

Edit: You’ve also got to remember, this comes after the comments about Fiorina and Kelley in the last year. I can only imagine what he said behind closed doors (probably hilarious, but not exactly Presidential).
