The Road to a 600kg Raw Total

Are you still low-carbing it? I’d imagine at this stage you’re probably starting to feel the combined effects of weight loss/dietary restrictions and the ramped up intensity levels Josh has you using on the lifts.

I dont feel too bad, until I fail the lift haha

I’ve explained where I am at to Shelby - currently at 201, personally I think I dont need to go any further, when considering the goal is strength…we’ll see what he comes back with.

Care to guess what he’ll say?

I expect the answer to be something along the lines of…3-5 more lbs yet.

How much more time do you have left with Josh?

I am training with Josh for another 5 weeks after I finish this week - basically right up to the meet.

Got the answer I wanted from Shelby, carbs before/ after training, less cardio - although we may return to it after the meet! Still, that gives me a solid 4-5 weeks to get back in the groove

Nice log! Are you in schedule for the meet? How is your knee doing?
Gonna follow you log to see your results. I’m a 93kg lifter myself now, and i’m gonna lift raw at the christmas meet. I see that i’m also competing against your numbers

Keep up the good work!

lol I think you’re some way ahead of me - I saw your 150kg press, feet up! I can only dream of that at the minute.

It will be a nice little bit of added motivation all the same

Comments:
Bit better this morning - the top set of the Board press was quite tough, first 2 reps felt pretty strong, then both times my triceps just died…everything else was ok, or at least following on from the previous sessions…

Off to see BBB now for some abuse for the afternoon. Peace.

Ok so I have a minor case of tendonitis in my left knee - nothing that a bit of treatment and care shouldn’t sore out…will prob effect my squat numbers though.

Do you have any liniment lotion like Tiger Balm lying around? I always use that stuff before I squat and put knee sleeves on over it. Works like a charm and the only time I’ve had a sore knee was when Josh first had me doing pistol squats.

Good news that Shelby has prescribed you a few more carbs going forward.

  • 1 to novaeer’s comment about tiger balm or other liniment. Works like a charm for keeping a tender area comfortable through the session.

I have a bottle of the blue stuff from elite, will make sure I use it more often - will be interesting to see what Josh gives me instead of squats for a week or two!

Hopefully things will be back on track now…

Fairly easy tonight, squats out for now - Josh told me to work upto a 5RM @ RPE 7…the 90 was pretty easy, should have gone to 100…next time.

Put a plate under the GHR to make them a little more difficult, made it quite challenging! Finished off with 2 mini circuits for the remainder.

From this morning:

30 mins - summit trainer

Face pulls x 12 x 6
Glute activation work x 12 x 6

Really working on just squeezing the glutes on the activation stuff.
