Not being snarky here either…I really don’t know if you gained all that much LBM…but I would love to be proven wrong…
I started at 187 @ 10.5%. Some math reveals that I went from 167 lbs. of LBM to about 188, for a 21 lbs. gain. I’m happy with the results.
I’m impressed by your math skillz, less impressed by your methods…All bodyfat measurement methods are flawed and are especially useless for measuring progress…the results are all over the place…pictures (and lift numbers) are a far better indicator…but like I said, I’m ready to be proven wrong…
Here is the article on bodyfat measurements if you’re interested:

I actually have wanted to find some articles on it, thanks for passing that along.
I know calipers aren’t the be-all end-all, but with a 5 site pinch test done weekly over 6 months it gives a general idea. Even if it was 18 lbs. of muscle or something I’d still be happy, not bad for 6 months work. Plus I have an easy time cutting. If I had difficulty I DEFINITELY would have done it cleaner.
Your right about lifts though; this is actually the strongest I’ve ever been. Deadlift went from 400 to 470, Squat from 345 to 400, bench from 285 to 340, barbell row from 265 to 320, and incline benching from 235 to 275.
I’ll read that article then reply later today

glad you liked the ass pic lol. I’m cutting because I only wanted to bulk for 6 months and hit 230, I hit 231, so I’m going to cut and see how everything looks.
Accipter, let me ask you this, with it known that the answer will essentially be speculation: how much do you credit those lift improvements solely to weight gain via actually bulking in the manner you did? Six months is a long time, and I suppose I’m thinking of this in terms of where you feel you would be at if you had chosen to bulk a bit more slowly but still hit it hard in the gym.
Also, in the gym, were you following a certain routine?

I’d say maybe 15% was due to weight gain. Leverage only accounts for so much. I can compare the weight I was pushing up to 215 lbs for instance, which is where my last bulk ended. I was about 215 when I pushed 300 for the first time, whereas at 215 last time I peaked at 285.
I don’t think I would have gotten to the level I’m at, in the same time frame, if I had bulked slower. Of course the price is I have more fat on me, but as I said, that’s easy enough to fix.
your fucking insane, why would you post this on a bodybuilding site? this looks something like an application for the biggest looser.
on a serious note; get surgery, you look like you just might roll away if you fall.
just post your progress and f the pictures,
LMAO

Why make a post like that?
Wow so many assholes in this thread.
OP you have a great attitude and just a sweet guy overall.
But this is RMP as in Physique, not Personality.
Sounds like you made good progress LBM-wise, although the After picture is what matters, not numbers.
Those lifts went up a lot though, so congrats with that.
I’ll be following the progress, hopefully the immature idiots won’t.

Thanks, you’re a real sweetheart ![]()
I’m not worried about what anyone says really, I’ve cut a half dozen times so it’s easy. I worry only about how much LBM I gain during a bulk. If I gain fat with it, I don’t care, I can just lose it during a cut.
Down to 222 today, I was going to take pictures but I’m trying to not come down with what feels like a lesser form of bubonic plague, so I’m just going to hit the hay instead.

^^ win
And on a side note, this is a great thread. I too want to see how this turns out. Please keep listing your highlights/lowlights if this bulk so we can all learn!
I thank you for blacking out your ass-crack. Because without that, the picture would have been “awkward”.
You made me laugh, so thanks for that. Good luck with your cutting cycle. Look forward to seeing your progress. We don’t need to see your ass when you are all cut though. Leave something to the imagination!
OP your legs are huge. What are they measuring?
lol thanks guys/gals. I’m feeling much better, was fighting something off last few days. Tomorrow’s Patriots Day in Massachusetts so I’m not sure if I’ll have time to take pics. My ass is actually looking a bit rounder and leaner so that seems to be the first place I’m losing weight off of.
In those pics my hips measure 46.5" and my upper leg/thigh measures 30"
Since I’m trying to do this cut with 0 steady state cardio here’s what I’m doing: Currently I have two conditioning days per week, consisting of some combination of tabatas, complexes, carries, plyometrics, and core work. On those days I’m around 50 net carbs. I may go lower soon. I get most of the carbs in the morning from my shake (around 38 of them I believe). The rest of the days I’m netting around 110 carbs.
For my weighted workouts I’m returning to an upper/lower heavy/light scheme; previously it was heavy/heavy when I was bulking. Although every few weeks I’m going to switch in a week where all my sets are in the 10-12 range. I did that this past week, my lower back thanked me, as it’s usually exhausted from heavy deadlifting and squatting.
Glad to hear you’re doing okay.
Sounds like a good plan with the conditioning days. The heavy/light days also sound good.
Really can’t wait for progress pics, I have no doubt you got this in the bag, considering you’ve done this how many times before.
Til then Amor
IIIIIIIIIIINCOMING!!!
