My contentions are around some of the logistics, eg in the middle of a huge war, 1.1m were killed in 4.5 years at Auschwitz.
I just cannot comprehend that number being remotely accurate. How were 700 people killed and disposed over every single 24 hour period for 4.5 years straight? It just doesn’t compute.
But I don’t question this out of disrespect. I just don’t have an emotional attachment to asking these kind of questions.
The Nazis originally planned to do a lot of their extermination of let’s say Jews with army volunteers who would round them up, tell them to dig a hole about grave size with an issued shovel and then kneel at the edge. Then a quick bullet to the head.
As there turned out to be millions more Jews in the western reaches of the Soviet Union that were being conquered than originally known about, this process proved painstakingly slow. Also, the Jews tended to be able to guess what was coming and be uncooperative. Some even saw no reason to not try and suddenly rush the Einsatzkommando (the volunteer), try to take them out with the shovel when there might be a slight lapse of attention and at least try to flee and join an ununiformed insurgent group.
The mass industrialized DECEPTIVE extermination approach was developed in which mostly civilians were rounded up at gunpoint and told that they would be required to do some slave labour to repay their debt to the German state and then later be resettled in the East. Where exactly wasn’t stated. this gave the doomed people some glimmer of hope that if they just cooperated a little more they might grit through the worst of it.
When they arrived at the death camps by railcars that were often full of manure, they were separated into those able to do hard slave labour immediately, and those to be disinfected first. They would be stripped, anything of value taken and later sold for the German state, have their heads shaved (the stuffing would be used for pillows for the German Navy) and led into a shower area. The door was heavy duty with a rubber seal and means to secure it strongly shut.
While expecting the plumbing to spray water, the crystals of Cycone B (Zyklon B) would be dropped inside, eventually leading to an horrific death.
My point with this post is that a little smart trickery can make a large number of people go to their deaths like food animals to slaughter.
Over the course of Nazi conquest something like 6.25 million Jews, and whatever millions of others were quickly and efficiently converted to smoke and ashes.
I understand. When I first was educated about the about the Holocaust at eight years old in Hebrew school and my family had a talk with me about it, and then realizing my grandma and great grandma emigrated from Europe because of the Third Reich I was so shocked that I had a hard time sleeping. I couldn’t quite grasp any atrocities at that age. As an adult discussing the topic I don’t get emotional. I don’t have problems with people questioning details of any historical events. I was simply curious to see if you are skeptical of details or if you believe nothing anti-Jewish happened at all.
You just haven’t been exposed to the throughput of industrial machinery, implements and processes.
When people think “oven” they think of that thing in their kitchen or the big one at the pizza shop.
Some industrial ovens for annealing and other heat treatments are big enough to drive trains through.
A Hungarian immigrant/WWII vet told me about going back to “kill those motherfucker”. When they took the capital, they found entire buildings set up along the Danube, equipped with cattle grinders (hammer mills) used to mash the bodies of “enemies” into a pulp and flush them out into the river.
Guys, you’re wasting your time. He’s following the neo-Nazi primer for Holocaust denial.
First step is usually the innocuous question about the actual number of exterminated Jews with under the guile of an “open mind”, the second step is doubting the oven capacity and the rolling stock of the Third Reich, followed by “why didn’t the Allies bomb trains to Auschwitz”, then the ludicrous assertion originated by David Irving that Hitler didn’t know about “isolated yet justifiable excesses” of frontline troops etc.
Yeah, I know. I Just couldn’t let that kind of stupid slide without pointing out his ignorance and an actual refutation using real things/events. More for posterity than anything.
Of course he has no problem ignoring or denying that either, but his apparent idiocy isn’t my responsibility.
Why don’t you just relax with the insults and outrage. Ignore my posts if you want.
If you’ve ever been in a 100,000 capacity stadium, you’d realise why someone might question 11 of those being disposed of is hard to fathom. It is not a small amount of people. This was 80 years ago too.
“That kind of stupid” it is extremely likely you are not an expert on this subject, I was being polite about your earlier post. Give it a rest.
Not nearly the expert that some of my grand uncles and other vets I’ve had the privilege of talking to are, but I know my fair share about industrial processes and throughput.
How many industrial catalytic reburners and other heat/energy systems have you built?
No. I actually have direct experience building incinerators, burners and other energy systems designed for specific fuels, uses, and throughput/output.
I was just being a bit understated. Obviously, things like understatement are lost on you.
Because you are a dullard.
I also have seen a collection of family pictures and talked about them with the men who took them when they fought in WW II, one of whom actually liberated one of the death camps.
And worked for the old Hungarian, who would pass on the stories sometimes when we had a little time to pass.
Therefore, I don’t question these relatively simple things that you can’t seem to wrap your mind around.
Killing 700 people per day every single day without fail for 4.5 years isn’t that simple of a concept. Considering it has never ever been done before or since.
Also considering this was done with the nation accused of it was at war on all fronts.
The Holocaust is one of the most studied events in modern history. It’s been examined by both the kinds of experts you claim are necessary and by people closer to the event, who have had the ability to validate claims. The numbers killed are not in significant dispute by anyone - save neo-Nazis trying to discredit the concept that a Holocaust occurred.
So, no - what you are doing isn’t reasonable - you’re just trying to pretend it is as a pretext to claiming people have been lied to about the severity of the tragedy.
I don’t know why you keep trying here - your mask is off, you’ve been discredited, you’re a laughingstock.
