Like Molyneux. He even tries to appear empathetic while calling people inferior. I hear people call him charismatic and he’s even been compared to a cult leader but apparently, what some people think is charismatic, I find creepy and disturbing. There is something off about him and if I heard they found someone locked in his basement I wouldn’t be surprised.
In what way? Stalin, as I understand it, was an unrepentant anti-Semite who had been planning another Jewish purge towards the end of his days.
That’s what I’m saying. He employed many Jews and condemned anti-Semitism but towards the end, became anti-Semitic. I once read on the day of his death, he was planning for a roundup of all Jews in the Soviet Union. I forgot the source but it seems plausible.
That was my understanding as well. It wouldn’t be beyond a Soviet tyrant to crush any religion, as the ‘order of the militant godless’ would attest.
Edit: I believe, if he was ever philo-Semitic, it was a tactic.
He indeed was a clever and focused man.
As all successful monsters must be.
No he wasn’t. He was the most deranged of the ruthless psychopaths that ran the Soviet Union and had the good fortune that Lenin suffered a stroke.
Made every possible strategic and political blunder possible including crippling the Red Army in 1937, went catatonic after the Germans invaded and took two weeks to recover his wits - the only difference was that the USSR had ample manpower to absorb all of his mistakes.
Of all Soviet leaders Khruschev was the only truly smart one.
Avid card player too. As was Eisenhower. That was the true contest of strategy.
Edit: you’d know better than I who the clever soviets were. Stalin had to be among the most survivable though.
Make no mistake, @polo77j…
I am not a fan of hypocrisy that comes from the Right OR the Left…which means I am also not a fan of antisemitism that somehow is more “legitimate” because one is a member of Congress.
Another thing about these young, “progressive” members of Congress that comes across loud and clear…their ignorance…
They are WAY over their heads…and I really don’t expect them to be around a long time…
Nor I. The insurgency in both parties will crash against the rocks. Trump and the squad both.
I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing yet.
Over the past 2 decades (or more)…the DEMS and GOP have have these “classes” of young, idealistic “game changers” that were going to shake things up and change the way things are done in Washington…
They all tend to fissile out faster than you can say “Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor and The Young Guns” or “The Squad”…
That they do. I’m a relatively young guy, but I am unsure that the enthusiasm being ruined every time is a good thing. If the forces that brought these insurgents, left or right, are incapable of changing things, I worry for your republic.
In general, I would agree.
The problem with all of these insurgents and game changes is that they also tend to be extremely partisan (WE RIGHT!/THEY WRONG!).
Our Countries problems are just too complex to be arrogant enough to think that one group of people have all of the answers.
Completely agree, but the situation right now reminds me of my favourite Yeats poem:
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
Hopefully one of them will actually be able to get something done and their enthusiasm will bring a nice reign of terror.
I see them as fanatics.
We’ve covered this a million times before. Of course it can vary. The question is so what? IQ is a rough measurement influenced by all sorts of factors - it isn’t driven by genetics and therefore it isn’t a measuring stick on a race or a group’s intelligence or potential. Nor does a “snapshot” of what a group’s IQ meaningfully predict how they will do in the future - again, too many factors impact why the score is the score.
Most people get this (common sense) understanding and give IQ it’s due weight (but only its due weight). But the people who want to talk about race and IQ use it to justify superiority and separationist claims in connection with race - and they start with the stupid notion that IQ is a complete measure of a group’s intelligence and where that at group’s genetically determined “lid” is in terms of progress because all other factors have been controlled for and the playing field for this measurement is equal for all groups. Utter nonsense.
Again, it’s stupid and everyone gets the agenda, even when it’s packaged in a “hey, let’s just have a discussion on this data”.
Perhaps deceptive is more fitting.
Wasting your time man … can’t teach statistical inference to people who don’t want to learn it
Correct
There have been many genocides in history.
There was a genocide of Ukrainians in the 1930s, as one example. All genocides are bad, one is no more worse than another.
No group should be beyond reproach, including Jews. Whites face massive amounts of demoralising criticism, much of which is demonstrably false (eg white privilege, anti white racism being completely acceptable amongst many groups and media platforms).
Jews should be open to criticism, same as anyone else. A war 75 years ago doesn’t change this.
