Sorry to disappoint, but you can’t force someone to be gay.

I don’t get it. Who’s forcing you to join a particular religion?
Nobody is forcing me to join a religion. I was referring to people pushing laws which are ultimately based on beliefs derived from fairy tales. Wouldn’t it bother you if you lived in the middle east under civil laws that reflect the fairy tales of the muslim religion?
People have all manner of reasons for voting the way they vote. A Christian doesn’t need “religious beliefs” at all to inform his vote on the gay marriage issue. Common sense and tradition suffice. Several commenters on this forum have already refuted you adequately, yet you largely ignore their arguments.
The “fairy tales” tag is largely a product of your animosity towards a religion that doesn’t affirm your worldview, though that religion is fine when it is bent by theological liberals into affirming their cause du jure. Then, and only then, the “fairy tales” are perfectly fine.
Speaking of “fairy tales,” we’re constantly subjected to homosexual propagandizing through various sources which the majority of Californians don’t support, so I guess we’re all entitled to our beliefs and to support them through our funds and votes.
It’s good to see that the Big Gay Hissy of 2008 is finally petering out, though the underlying gay neurosis still remains largely untreated and will no doubt rear its ugly head again in the near future, probably in the form of demands for more HIV money from straights who, of course, will also be expected to shoulder the burden of gay promiscuity.

In the same way straight men can have sex with other men, as in prisons or the entire society of Spartans.
Sex <> romantic love.
BULLSHIT!
A tiny percentage of men actually have sex with other men in prison. It’s time for you to put up some statistics regarding how many men actually have sex in prison who were not bi to begin with.
What’s wrong with you anyway?
Never mind we all know…
Him provide proof? now that just funny.

That must be it! I was praying to god when I should have been praying to Spongebob.
Our Lord of the Bikini Bottom has all answers.
I don’t understand, maybe someone can explain this to me.
If you have a religious belief, you are automatically unqualified to voice your opinion, because then that would be forcing your views on someone else?
However, if your Gay, and trying to force your views on traditional society, then that is ok?
Why is that?

I suppose they’d say we believe in fairy tales. While we’d say because they chase fairy tail.

Get over your martyr complex, I’m not just talking about your brand of Christianity. I’m referring to every religion which promotes beliefs about the physical universe that are fairy tales rather than facts.
Those fairy tales don’t stop being fairy tales just because people don’t try to push them on others.

You may want to coordinate with your buddy pat, since the two of you seem to be saying different things.
Prison was just one example, though. I’ve brought up the Spartans several times, how about addressing them?

People are always welcome to voice their opinions. However, when you try to create civil laws that negatively effect me, based on fairy tales rather than facts, I have an issue with that.
I couldn’t care less whether or not you share my views on being gay. I just want you to stay out of my life.

Oh, I use facts to oppose benefits and state recognition for gay marriage.

Riiiight…it’s not as if your beliefs about homosexuality being a perversion color your opinion in any way.

Well, when you guys spontaenously start birthing babies via bowel movement, let me know.
Do you consider marriage between an infertile straight couple to be a perversion?
Oh that’s right, your logic only goes one way.

No. Because even while medically incapable of having a child themselves, they still present the model for society of the smallest possible unit that naturally produces and raises it’s own offspring, in an intact home. That is, 1 man and woman. That was a soft ball. You’re going to have to do better than that.
forlife, do you believe in the gay “gene” and if so who did you inherit your “gayness” from?

How do they present the model you claim when it is IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO REPRODUCE?

The best evidence currently available is that sexual orientation is determined by a combination of genetic, in utero hormonal, and environmental factors.
There is some evidence that homosexuality may be carried through the mother’s side, but I think the jury is still out on that.
Half of the children in my family are gay (2/4).
