Couple of things/questions
Do you do shift work at all? When I was it used to throw my sleep on weekends when reverting back to type.
Following on from this, I found since stopping shift work down which was at the onset of the first 2020 Covid lockdown we had that I keep my sleep/wake times within 30 mins every day including weekends. That does mean I’m up at around 04:30 - 04:45 on Saturdays and Sundays but I think there’s a certain magic in doing that for me.
Have you tried magnesium? It’s a supplement that helps my sleep quality, there’s also melatonin but that’s more for getting to sleep which I don’t think is your problem.
I’ve also found blue tint glasses a couple of hours before bed and a sleeping mask are absolutely on the money for me.
Sometimes my shift does flip flop but that’s a rare occurrence. I still tend to go to sleep at the same time.
No, not in any substantial amount. Same thing with Melatonin. It’s not really because I don’t think it works it’s more of a budget thing, I really can’t afford a lot of extra expenses. But if you think it will genuinely help then I’ll be willing to grab it
I might consider these as well if the box fan doesn’t work.
I was going out today to buy a big box fan, I think a big part of my issues are coming from how god damn hot it is here this time of year (and extremely humid), my room feels like a sauna in the morning, it’s not good because my body naturally burns like a furnace. If that doesn’t work i’m going to look into these other options.
Plate Loaded Incline Press (Paused at Bottom)
2x225x15
Single Arm Lateral Raise (leaning into wall)
25x15
20x18
15x20
Lateral Raise Machine
2x70x20
Felt good after taking the week off, still went super light, nothing close to failure, all pump and fluff work.
I still have a few tweaks that are noticable. This week is going to be real low intensity and a lot of mobility work, just focused on exercise selection to build up on when I’m ready, a lot of technique work to be done.
If I’m not healed up by next Saturday I’m going to take an extra week light.
Note: Bodyweight coming in this week is 226, lightest I’ve been in awhile. Focusing on getting down to 220 if I can.
Am I the only one here impressed af by the pull-ups? Seems like you hardly do them, and then to knock out numbers like this, at your bodyweight? That’s nuts man
Hey thanks for the compliment. I don’t bother mentioning my form since it doesn’t really matter much to me, but, I don’t fully extend at the bottom, it’s like bodybuilder reps, no lockout. I go up to right about mouth level. It definitely gives me a few more reps and makes it easier.
Everything felt good. The squat was a little heavier than I wanted it to be, that felt more like a RPE 7. I didn’t have any reference numbers to base it off of except my close stance, so I was testing the waters with that one. Dropping 25-35lbs would be a good starting point for the future. Also could do just a split second longer on the pauses.
Still a great session, no hyping up, totally calm and no grinding, still some tweaks that are healing up.
Oh hell yeah, the ingredients are literally just rice, rice oil, sugar and a soy sauce powder
This little shop also has homemade rice cakes, they fry them and drizzle a maple brown sugar glaze on top, it is freaking incredible. They don’t sell them often though. It tastes nothing like the store bought stuff.
Not sure what you’re going through, but I know you’re gonna get through it. Smoke and prayers headed your way brother, don’t be afraid to reach out if your struggling
