He has no law degree or anything else. He had to wait for the payoff, to go away. Makes sense – he only had his continued presence as an asset. He must have gotten a pretty good payday out of this.

They were tired of him. He is in the House, which is a minority, which doubly means he is worthless. He brings undesired attention, he is the walking epitome of shooting a fly with an elephant gun.
He is an albatross for the Dems, they wanted him out, and with economy/jobs situation not picking up as the Dems would have hoped by now, they do not want anymore strikes against them than needed.
Irish, there is a report that he lied to Obama. Not sure how true it is, but with this guy and as weird and shady as he is, I would not be surprised if it was true.
