The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

Nah this is why the electoral college is still a thing. You need a controllable way for the minority to exert its will upon the majority. Gerrymandering is kinda similar but a different flavor.

You are suggesting Democrats just need a black candidate to win every election? I think history would tell us otherwise to the tune of all Presidents but one. And that one happened to be someone who was a master of oratory following up an insanely disliked Republican Party.

I believe I said “blackish.” I also mentioned that he can’t be scary to potential voters. I do believe that’s the formula to win every presidential election.

Certainly would make for one hilarious White House…!

On a serious note…I understand what @NickViar… is saying.

This Country will tolerate a “white” Trump…but never a “black” one…

If President Obama would have started his campaign even remotely with the vitriol and conspiracy theories of Trump? He never would have made it out of his Chicago Precinct, much less win the Highest Political Office in the land for two terms.

(Could you even begin to imagine President Obama telling Southern Members of Congress to go back to their Trailer Parks, Pig Farms and Opioid Pain Clinics?)

These GOP apologist are already spinning things by saying it’s all about policy, not race (and of course blaming their favorite foil “The Media” (minus “Fox” and the Conservative Mediasphere, of course…)

It was absolutely sickening to hear Liz Cheney this morning blame everybody but Trump for his latest antics and behavior.

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Lousy try at moral equivalents, @Basement_Gainz…and it was as predictable a response as a Trump morning Tweet… (did you cut and paste it from a “What-about-Obama?” folder?)

Talk about a statement blown WAY out of proportion by Conservatives…yet Trump can say…over, and over and over again…things that insult, inflame, deride and divide…and there is WHAT from Conservatives?

…not even crickets

(Do you have Clinton’s “deplorables” statement ready to go?)

You’re comparing Obama’s honesty with Trump’s bullshit?

It wasn’t a try at moral equivalents. It was a direct refutation of your point. It’s always excused when lefties punch down on lower class Republicans. It’s never okay to punch down on Democrat constituents. That’s because the outrage mob owns the left.

Obama’s honesty? You can’t compare something that doesn’t exist.

Again all of history would disagree with your formula. Also I don’t know what can’t be scary to potential voters means. Isn’t everyone scary to some voters? Weren’t people terrified Obama was going to get every gun?

Just for argument sakes what people are Cory Booker and Kamala Harris getting to vote for them that guarantees a Dem victory that they would not get without Biden or Warren? Not flaming just trying to see where we are disagreeing.

Or is Cory Booker scary? He doesn’t seem scary but I don’t know much about him. You’re saying if the Dems ran him they would win 2020?

What wasn’t true about that statement?

Tribalism causes blindness. If there were no outrage mob on the right, Fox news would lose half of its viewers. Then you have terms like sjw, snowflake, socialist, moochers, etc.

Effeminate. Being basically white(genetically half, and raised by) wouldn’t hurt either.(Edit: it’s important that voters know they’re voting for someone that will make them feel good about themselves while being merely a marionette for the old, white string-pullers in charge)

I don’t think ANYONE was scared of Obama. Nobody saw him as one of the black guys that makes them scared to go to the other side of town. People WERE worried about his policies.

He was an athlete. He will remind potential voters of the black ball players they feared in high school.

Married to a white guy. No chance.

Booker is a Trekkie. That cancels his athleticism.

Not even close…

For the sake of argument (using your comparison of Republican and Democratic constituents…)

The sheer VOLUME of vitriol, animosity, disrespect and derision directed and tweeted by Trump toward the latter far exceeds the number of divisive remarks directed by President Obama to the Right… by a 1000-fold (or more). And you know this to be true, whether you wish to accept it or not.

And it’s total bullshit; and attacks my intelligence (what little there is)…for Liz Cheney and others to say “…he, (Trump) attacks policies, not individuals…”

(Run that statement by those who ran against Trump in the Republican Primary, and see if they even believe that…)

Unbelievable…

Indeed it does…

Forget President Obama he has more by far than any President ever. When you’re talking about what he says and the frequency it’s certainly more. And every politician lies and stretches the truth but Trump does this at such an amazing rate. From what he saw on 9/11 to his complete fabrication of his crowd size at his inauguration the dude’s nose would touch Jupiter if he was Pinnochio

Is that said in the context that millions of Americans believed he wasn’t even a US citizen?

I’m a lot more afraid of a foreign born ISIS member being in the oval than I ever will be a gang member

Alright. Slower this time.

Your assertion is that a black man could never be president if he attacks his opponents in a manner similar to Trump. My contention is that isn’t supported by any evidence. The evidence we do have from recent elections cycles:

A white man didn’t survive “47% don’t pay taxes and will never vote for me” and “binders full of women”.

A white woman didn’t survive “basket of deplorables” and “why am I not ahead by 50 points?!”

A black man DID survive “bitter clingers”, " you didn’t build that" etc…

So I’d like to know where your evidence is that a mean black guy couldn’t be president. I don’t know Samuel L Jackson’s politics, but I’d wager he’d do pretty well.

Also I’d like to point out that Sharpton and Jackson exist, and have made millions of dollars out of stirring racial animosity (and getting people killed). The press still invites them onto shows regularly anytime something racial needs commented on.

Yes Trump is a boorish fool and his phone should’ve been taken away in 2015 by his handlers. But his tactic of going directly at his enemies as hard as he knows how worked for him. Irreverence is how he won. It’s all he has really, don’t expect him to stop. That doesn’t mean I support the behaviour, I just know he won’t stop.
