Not because he actually uses coke… I highly doubt he does, it’s a smear tactic of sorts. Mcconells father in law Mr Chao founded a company… this company had a number of vessels shipping goods… one of which was found to be smuggling ninety pounds of cocaine
Couldn’t agree more. Far as I know is anyone saying all can live like a rockstar? If they are their idiots. But are Dems saying everyone gets to have the same stuff as Kanye West?
I don’t think any of us do. But I think most of us on here would agree something needs to be done. People may be looking to Dems since the Republicans had full power and didn’t even do the one thing they said they would for 8 years which was replace Obamacare.
FWIW I’m not sure Medicare for all is the right answer. But I believe health care is the single biggest current issue in our country. Something needs to change even if I’m not sure what that something is.
You are defending Warrens health plan when it literally destroyed her run, immediately after release.
Why does that connote a sound idea?
I haven’t defended her plan in the least bit. I’m not even sure what her plan was.
What, exactly, are we in such dire need of ? We have all we need to be successful.
We have: schools, libraries, grocery stores, gyms, parks, computer access, dedicated teachers, churches, public transportation, job opportunities.
She lied about being passed over for being pregnant. And her heritage. She’s scum.
Then l will clarify.
Having a whacky plan for healthcare that costs 3x the national deficit(or whatever she proposed) is nonsensical on its face. Even thiough shhhe had a plan.
Sp errors sorry
I don’t disagree. However which is the whackier proposal?
-
I will cover everyone and here’s my plan.
-
I will cover everyone at a cheaper rate than currently. No plan.
My point was that as far as I can tell most Dems are at least saying this is how I would do “X.”
Republicans didn’t even give a shit that Trump wouldn’t even attempt to show his work. They knew Mexico paying for the wall sounded good. How? Didn’t matter. They knew cheaper healthcare for all sounded good. How? Didn’t matter. They knew eliminating the national debt while not touching entitlements sounded good. How? Didn’t matter.
I’m not saying I think all the Dem plans are great ones. I’m not aware of hardly any of the specifics because we have a lot in the race still. I’m also not in fear of one because a lot of those promises have zero chance of actually happening.
So you feel the black community does not face any different issues than the white community? Or face special challenges unique to black folks? I’m not trying to put words in your mouth. Your argument makes total sense if you believe the above.
Feel like we’re tracking towards the other thread where we did this. I pointed out numerous challenges that are unique to black peoples and I believe he acknowledged many of them. Maybe just a disagreement on the severity.
I would like to think we wouldn’t ignore the mountains of evidence at the very least bit that you are more likely to be stopped if you are black and less likely to get a job if you have a black sounding name.
Different sure. Insurmountable ? Hardly. Rural poor whites face a lot too. But nobody seems to gaf about them. Why ?
Really? When I think of expanded health care coverage, expanded help for college, not making cuts to social services, etc how is this not aimed at poor white people?
It’s the very same things some people in here are crying about so much. Poor white people would absolutely be helped by these things.
Subsidizing manufacturing and energy/material profuction, job training, welfare programs, Medicaid… All generally geared toward poor white folks.
Black poor folks face all the challenges of poor white folks, with the addition of those different challenges you mention. Same with well off white folks vs well off black folks.
To me, it sounds like you’re fed up with the messaging, not the policies. You’d prefer more tough love instead of a helping hand… Shocking coming from a marine who grew up a base brat lol.
My point is, you can have both: more programs to help the black community AND different, more empowering messaging. It’s not one or the other, and I think it’s unfair to criticize white politicians for pushing helpful policy when they can’t (for obvious reasons) push for tougher messaging.
Im talking more along the lines of opportunities and resources
Marine ! Big M you dummy ![]()
A Marine’s, preferred pronoun, is MARINE!!!
What party did LBJ and JFK belong to? Those Dems sure screwed over people of color. Good thing Nixon came along to sign the Civil Rights bill.
It’s not like they don’t get welfare.
If they cared more about education than abortion, gays, guns, and Mexicans, they would be better off. They would rather pray in school than learn about evolution.
Wouldn’t you say that those things limit opportunities and resources though?
I would also say these things are also unequal for poor people regardless of race. Not that poor people don’t have access to a lot of the things you listed but it’s often much lower quality than for people who have wealth and aren’t limited geographically.
