…the people who don’t live in cities believe the problem is bigger than those who actually live there. Doesn’t sound like it isn’t getting enough coverage. It just isn’t getting accurate coverage.
Plus, it’s significant to the extent people blame Biden or think he won’t handle it. But:
Six in 10 Americans say the mainstream media has made the protests more dangerous, followed by the Black Lives Matter movement at 59% and Trump at 54%. A majority of Americans say antifa (53%), conservative militias (52%) and conservative media (51%) contribute to protests becoming more dangerous.
Less than one-third (29%) say Biden has made the protests more dangerous.
So, BLM and Trump are essentially tied (along with others) on who’s making it worse, and Biden isn’t being blamed.
So, is Biden’s electoral chances suffering as a result? Does not appear so.
59% is still high.
I think this shows that most Americans don’t see themselves as part of any of these movements and fringe ideologies.
With Biden, it might be a case of how he shows these people he’s with them and not a panderer to fringe elements. Harris telling a violent criminal, Jacob Blake, she’s proud of him, is doing the opposite of that.
Well, it’s almost October…it’s time for it to get interesting. See if the appeal is confirmed or reversed.
My feeling is that after Trump’s second Term, the SDNY is going to go full Beast Mode…

Biden is more representative of core conservative values — socially and economically — than Donald Trump can ever dream of being, despite all the phony tinsel patriotism designed to bamboozle his base. That’s why Biden easily gets my vote, and that’s why he should get yours, too.
I suppose Biden can represent whatever you want as long as it is worded vaguely enough. Never mind his policies, voting record or stated positions.
Those dumb Venezuelans are just suckers for not getting behind Biden. Especially the majority of registered Democrats who plan to vote Trump.

What is it about an education in astrophysics, medicine or any other high level degree that imparts expertise in government policy?
Why would you value such an opinion over, say, Venezuelan immigrants?
I think it is hard to make a point with either. Saying this group of people doesn’t like this political party means just that. It would be jumping to conclusions to say the Venezuelan’s are right, or that the highly educated people are right.
I think (correct me if I am wrong) that you were implying that they didn’t like Biden because they have experience with socialism due to living in Venezuela. We don’t know if they are coming to a good conclusion or not. Just that they are coming to it at a high rate. Same thing goes for the highly educated. We can’t say the highly educated are correct just because of education.
I’d say the Venezuelans might have more experience with bad policy and how to run a once prosperous country into the ground. Maybe they see a pattern that evades those in academia.
Maybe they remember the enthusiastic support for Chavez and his policies from American Democrats before things got so bad that dog meat became a good meal.
Maybe they are just brainwashed Trump Cultists, unable to discern the virtues of Democrat policy and the outcomes left in its wake.
If only they had a better grasp on M-Theory, perhaps they might come around. A degree in astrophysics is very impressive, after all.
The important part here is “might”.
They also might not be able to discern the difference between a center left politician like Biden, and a socialist like Chavez. To me that is the more likely scenario.
Conservatism has always been a out more than that. But in any event, Trump doesn’t have conservative policies, voting record or stated positions.

He says he is for the working class. Under Trump coal mines have closed, manufacturing has gone down, and many working class people have lost health insurance.
My point was that saying a certain group like this candidate is not proof that the candidate is the best choice for the country.
I don’t really consider profession much when considering who I hang out with.
