We have many reasonable, conservative, historically GOP voting, posters here who hate him based on his extreme lack of character. They hate him because he is ruining conservative values and the Republican party with his conduct.
You are liking him in part because he upsets conservative voters who have a backbone.
I consider them reasonable. I have seen them type “I hate the guy”.
I should clarify here. He has changed what some conservative values are. For example, many conservatives were for free trade. Trump is not for it. Many of his voters who identify as conservatives are no longer for it (fiscal responsibility is another example). So many of the historical conservative ideas are being thrown out. This is upsetting to those conservatives who desire to remain consistent with their values.
“The weather was bad and [former Chief of Staff John Kelly] and I spoke about whether to travel as planned to the Chateau-Thierry Belleau Woods monuments and nearby American Cemeteries, where many U.S. World War I were buried. Marine One’s crew were saying that bad visibility could make it imprudent to chopper to the cemetery. The ceiling was not too low for Marines to fly in combat, but flying POTUS was obviously something very different. If a motorcade were necessary, it could take between ninety and a hundred and twenty minutes each way, along roads that were not exactly freeways, posing an unacceptable risk that we could not get the President out of France quickly enough in case of an emergency. It was a straightforward decision to cancel the visit but very hard for a Marine like Kelly to recommend, having originally been the one to suggest Belleau Wood”
They are, and what cuts against Trump is that he’s already made such remarks about McCain publicly. Most people don’t have much benefit of the doubt for him based on that.
We’ll see if others come out and refute/confirm the claims, but it’s hilarious to see the anguish at unnamed sources - that’s basic journalism and has been for years. I guess it’s just one more thing to be cognitively dissonant on?
The author cites multiple sources and is no rookie when it comes to public reaction challenging the veracity of his article. Hard to think he’d subject the Atlantic to a situation requiring retraction.
That said, I guess we’ll see. But also - I see Trumpkins using Bolton’s statements to counter. Wait - so we’re back to Bolton is a truth teller that we should listen to?
Well, this part is true. More corrupt than Nixon or Harding, but added to that more inept than Buchanan, and more politically and constitutionally ignorant than other officeholder.
Precisely why we need an adult in charge. If you’re a China hawk, even you know the “belligerent drunk uncle” approach to dealing with China is a recipe for disaster, made even worse by the additional borrowing binge the US has been on. In four years, Trump got nowhere meaningful with China and now they have growing leverage:
I wouldn’t say that is any more than an opinion piece. Betting on elections in a formal setting is illegal. Many times the odds fall into place by how the bets come in. There are not formal bets on this in Vegas. The fact that an oddsmaker had the findings doesn’t mean much as he doesn’t have anything riding on it, and doesn’t have betting data on it. IMO, something like 538s simulations are a better way to see what is likely to shake out. FWIW, they have Trump winning about 30/100 times.
How’s that a false narrative? It’s literally happening. Maybe not to you, yet, but it’s happening. Ask Mayor Wheeler.
You want to sit at a restaurant and be accosted to raise your fist or kneel, or else?
You want to be a business owner in Louisville be force to sign a contract by BLM to either hire or donate to black businesses or causes in order to ‘prevent’ something from happening to your business? You okay with people coming to your house and telling you that you don’t live there and you should just give it to black people? You’re fine with violence looting and destruction?
I just don’t understand how this can be going on for 97 days strait and people still believe there is nothing to see here, or that it’s really white supremacists who love Trump and playing 12D chess and pretending to be BLM/ ANTIFA; like white supremacists are that smart.
How is a ‘narrative’ that is just plain factual, false?
The BLM vs. MAGA challenge. I thought this up, I am curious if anybody is brave enough to try it. So the challenge is to pick 2 days that are relatively similar in schedule, but outside your dwelling. One of those days, you wear some BLM regalia all day until sleepy time. The other day you wear a MAGA hat or something, t-shirt, anything. Then record your experience.
The sad part of this is if anybody feels they would endanger themselves, then don’t do it. But it would be interesting if some young, brave bucks would be willing to try it and see what happens.
I am not saying you have to agree with either one, and if someone approaches you, you can just tell them you don’t agree just curious. How would those two relatively similar days go?
If your not willing to do it, why not?
