Why is it so hard for you to believe that a violent criminal behaved like a violent criminal?

The one with a pistol who was shot in the arm was a convicted felon and legally not allowed to possess a gun. Skateboard guy was a violent domestic abuser. I don’t think there is a problem with our society if he gets off because I see self defense here regardless of possession of a rifle, but I DEFINITELY think there is a big problem if he is celebrated at all by others. Self defense is self defense. Kid will probably have nightmares for a long long time.
I think the most he gets is a misdemeanor if they tack on some sort of possession charge, but so far it doesn’t seem like a prosecutor can get anywhere near “beyond reasonable doubt” for murder.
