(I never discuss (personally or online), who I Vote for…).
I think that this is going to be a VERY close race, @Californiagrown…and this is why I feel strongly that the momentum is with Trump. Without going into a lot of detail (and that I posted earlier):
I think many have a lot of enthusiasm to vote against Trump too. I don’t buy too much into the enthusiasm gap with Biden. With Hillary, there were a lot of swing voters who hated both candidates. In this case, many stayed home. I don’t think this plays out with Biden.
What red city is rioting? What SPECIFICALLY has he done to incite riots? He hasn’t even had the balls to say that if you fight with the police, ignore their orders when they are pointing guns at you, and then reach into a truck where they can’t see what you are grabbing (and where there IS a knife), you deserve to get shot.
Tweeting that if folks riot thats when the shooting will start. Supporting vigilante militia teenagers who kill 2 people. sending in DHS to PDX against the wishes of state and local officials when the nightly riots were dying down in june just to stir it back up (once it was fully stirred up again, he withdrew DHS). Constant divisive rhetoric threatening federal invasions of local municipalities against state and local officials wishes, parading through cities in the midst of riots about him, what he represents and the policies he supports, etc, etc.
He has done nothing to try and calm tensions or let protestors know they are being heard (im not talking about rioters). He has only acted antagonistically in this time of great domestic strife and done so with the glee of an internet troll.
Come on, they’re really burning down people’s livelihoods over tweets? Because federal law enforcement protected federal property as they are charged to do? Really?
Incite means to encourage or stir up. It doesnt mean to start. And 100% yes he has been gaslighting and inciting.
PDX riot dying down in june with only 1-2 dozen folks showing up. Trump decides to send in the feds in as public of a manner as possible to fire it back up. Kenosha riot dying down with only peaceful protests the last few nights, trump decides to go strut around a City that is still smoldering after rioting against what he symbolically stands for to fire it back up.
Trumps message to the largest race riots and protest movement in decades: you all are dead wrong, are bad people, and if i had my way i would use violence against anyone practicing civil disobedience. Anyone involved is against me, anyone for me, should be against them.
I mean, it’s not like they didn’t have a historical precedent - Nixon’s “law and order” win in 1968.
Even more telling example is France in May of the same year and the famous communist/anarchist violent riots that lasted for weeks.
Despite the self-congratulatory rewriting of history by ageing leftists, the French elections in 1969 - less than a year after the riots - saw an unprecedented right-wing landslide with the conservatives gaining a mind boggling 111 seats more in Assemble Nationale compared to five years earlier.
Is it so fucking difficult for the Dems to understand this exceedingly simple rule of politics everywhere? When there’s rioting on the streets and property is being destroyed, people flock to the (notionally) right wing party.
“Civil disobedience , also called passive resistance , the refusal to obey the demands or commands of a government or occupying power, without resorting to violence or active measures of opposition; its usual purpose is to force concessions from the government or occupying power.”
He thinks Marxist, anti-American rioters should be reigned in. That isn’t a hateful position.
I don’t know if he supported the kid but, he probably acted in self-defense and one of the people he killed was a convicted sex offender. People know these details and the fact that media like CNN refuse to be unbiased because of Trump hate doesn’t help.
You have to ignore a whole lot of facts and conscious, reckless decision making by that kid to arrive at the conclusion it was probably self defense. Also, it shouldnt matter in the slightest if one of the victims of the shooting was a sex offender or not.
The first guy who got shot was grabbing the barrel of the rifle and trying to take it away. That will get you shot. The one guy was running at him with a pistol. That will get you shot. The third one hit him with a skateboard. That will get you shot.
If you drive from a state away to act as an illegal vigilante, so you can run up into a hostile crowd (who you previously have proclaimed dislike for) pointing your illegal weapon at people and then shoot anyone who tries to disarm you, that’s murder.
He was out past stated curfew. He was extralegally guarding property that wasnt his, nor was he asked by the owner of said property to guard it. He was 17, not old enough to be in possession of that rifle.
Unless they bring other charges against him, he will be acquitted of first degree murder IMO. In all the shots fired he has self defense as a his motive for shooting.
