The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

Considering we have no idea what Election Day and turnout will look like it’s going to be really hard to say much about this. Coronavirus is the ultimate wildcard and I won’t even try to predict its effect on the process of voting. It doesn’t matter if Trump is universally despised as he won with horrid polling numbers in 2016. If some blue voters don’t go out and vote because of Covid it doesn’t matter. When a few odd thousand people in a handful of states might completely swing the whole thing who knows.

It’s one thing to look at polling right now or even as the race closes but I tend to think as much as coronavirus might help Dems from a look at how bad Trump fucked this up perspective it is bound to hurt them in a showing up to vote perspective. They are much more likely (based on polling) to not show up at the polls due to Covid. So the question will be do all those people who typically show up get mail ballots? I tend to doubt that.

But I’m talking about stuff we have no way of even remotely knowing. And stuff that could be drastically different come November.

Late 80’s early 90’s WWF and WCW was the shit. I haven’t watched wrestling in forever but still look up old clips from time to time for the memories. Had Wrestlemania 3 on VHS and probably watched Hogan vs Andre 100 times.

Indeed. I’m making no predictions whatsoever, to be honest. I’ve learned my lesson.

Solid pick for VP. You want your VP to fill the role of attack dog, and Harris can do that (former prosecutor, has shown she’s good at that). Woman of color, won elections before, doesn’t have an Ivy League pedigree, no holdover baggage from the Obama administration. Attractive and camera friendly, Pence will need permission from his wife just to sit beside her at the VP debates.

Also, handy dandy fun fact - Trump donated to her campaign for CA AG twice (and Ivanka once).

Interesting fact, it seems she’s a descendant of the biggest slave owner in Jamaica.

That is interesting - and despite this and other facts about her ethnicity, we’re seeing members of the white grievance party challenge her as “not black enough.” How does that end well for them?

I don’t think she is African-American, by definition, but the whole not black enough thing doesn’t make sense. It’s the one drop rule in reverse.

I suspect she’ll become President before the end of Biden’s first term.

If nothing else Kamela Harris will be a ready and willing attack dog to go toe-to-toe with trump on twitter insults and mockery… meanwhile Biden can stay out of the fray and not expose himself.

She wont be a pence VP, thats for sure.

I suspect she’ll be the nominee before November.

A feat which many have been willing to try and have failed at. Rubio and Cruz both tried it and got steamrolled.

Harris will, I suspect, fare similarly if she fights Trump at his own game. The smarter play would be to not do that.

While it isn’t my call to make, I would concur with that. I don’t get the need for the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants to have to to rewrite that.

Surely a second generation immigrant becoming a VP nomination is a good story?

In any universe without Trump, never well.

But this is bizarro-world, so I have no idea at all anymore.

Probably true, but that still leaves conventional avenues of attack open to her.

Which is fair. I’d be extremely surprised to see her or Biden fight him at his own game. That way lies death.

Sorry, but that’s funny!

The fact that tucker carlson (who very much considers himself a top notch journalist) doesnt know how to pronounce the fairly simple name of someone who has been very much in the news for over a year, or the fact that CNN got their panties all in a bunch about it?

To me, it reflects really poorly on tucker as a professional (unless he considers himself an entertainer and not a journalist), and makes CNN look typically petty and snowflakey.
