If this is a strategy to get Trump back into the white house, you can think think the militant left who have been coddled for far too long. Now they destroy, graffiti, burn, assault, and even murder.
Don’t blame others because those little sparks the left has been fanning for years roared into a full-blown arson.

Let me know when these “Marxist Hordes” are spilling over into Texas, Alabama, Kansas and Oklahoma, etc. then I will be on board with the dire warnings of the eminent destruction and fall of the Republic.
Are a bunch of pseudo-revolutionaries (and yes, probably Right-Wing extremist mixed in the group, because they always support chaos) burning parts of a U.S. city and peoples Private Property; and people becoming injured concerning?ABSOLUTELY IT IS!

I’m also not too concerned about a bunch of self-proclaimed marxists who throw bottles at police and literally hide behind their mommys. If I lived in Portland I would be extremely concerned, and I’m just as concerned for my fellow citizens in Portland as I am my fellow citizens in violence ridden neighborhoods in Chicago or New York city.
What makes me concerned for the future of our republic is the deplorable state of our news media, and how my fellow citizens keep falling for obvious clickbait garbage, like the above story of “unidentified officers arresting peaceful protestors.”
If we can’t have a more intelligent conversation than that, we’re done.

Of course.
For me, personally, I watched for years as actual peaceful demonstrations (Tea-party, lockdown opposition) was made out to be evidence of republican/conservative rhetoric and thought fostering a powder keg of right-wing militancy. Actual sustained violence, arson, brazen disregard of law and order? “Yawn, wake me up when it get…”
Where are the mainstream news pundits, experts, the celebrities, reflecting on how left-wing rhetoric got us to this point?
Maybe the Republic will survive it in the short term.
But some people already haven’t. And some livelihoods.
When Thomas Sowell says “fire”, he should be listened to. This is not a man prone to hyperbole.
I’m saying we have a fire too, and Joe Biden is campaigning on his ability to fuel it. It is spreading fast too.

Anyone remember that Biden is accused of sexual assault? A nominee for President.
Anyone remember the shit Kavanaugh went through? The burden of evidence that supposedly was enough to determine he was unfit? The near wall to wall coverage?

Here’s something to consider: while we look at a relatively few Antifa members as being on the fringes of the fringe and dismiss them for a variety of reasons which can be summed up as they are morons; while we are distracted by them, the political agenda of the extreme left has influenced the position of the left. Their agenda is taught as truth in universities and public schools. The book White Fragility was a best seller and its assertions are taught as fact.
Are we going to deny that Antifa is seen as the good guys by the left leaning media? People are so focused on, “they’re against fascism,” they ignore what Antifa is for. Look at BLM’s agenda, it is unapologetically Marxist and anti heterosexual male. I know it, you know it, lots of people know it yet the media, who should also know it, never mentions it. Why? Do they support that or are they scared?
I have a message for those of you with kids: if you are white, they will be taught to hate you and themselves. The method of the extreme left is to make white people dehumanize themselves. Recognizing your privilege is an act of self dehumanization. If your kids are also males and heterosexual, they will believe they are the root of all evil and need to constantly be on guard for displaying toxic masculinity. Mansplaining? Man spreading? Yeah, they sound harmless but look at the reasoning behind it.
If your kids are black women or lgbtq they will be taught they are a perpetual victim class at war with heterosexual males and that includes black males.

And don’t get me wrong. Trump is still the same bungling, immoral, loud-mouth ass I raged against on these forums and refused to vote for.
Saying something could reach the point of no return is basically saying nothing at all. I am correct in saying Trump being elected in 2020 could lead to Russian control. The “could” is important, and keeps Sowell from being accused of hyperbole.
And if frogs could fly they wouldn’t bump their ass hopping. Do you really think Biden’s sexual misdeeds are any worse than Trump’s? We only get to choose between the two candidates (if we want to pick someone viable to win), so I don’t consider this whataboutism (I am not justifying behavior, just pointing out that picking either candidate results in picking a sexual predator).
Not a flame. But if an activity is illegal for an individual or as a Federal matter, neither locale nor group size should have any bearing.

Honestly, I have no evidence that either has actually sexually assaulted anyone.
That wasn’t my point. I hope people vote for whoever they want if they do choose to vote for either of these candidates. But the anti-Trump brigade could stand to be a bit more humble what with the state of things.

With the Conventions being close; Biden has got to choose his running mate.

We don’t have good evidence for either IMO. There is more total women claiming misconduct against Trump, but claims are just that. So Trump has a whole stack of evidence that doesn’t meet the criteria to convince me, and Biden has a smaller stack.
For evidence of something like this to be sufficient, we basically have to have video, maybe a few witnesses, a confession… I put the probability of misconduct higher for Trump, but probability is not enough to say he did it.
Oh, and the whole “Trump will declare martial law to remain the President” starting to make it’s way around politicians and media…How irresponsible can you be? With the rioting we’ve already seen? My gosh.

But my ire is centered on one thing here - the complete disintegration of a political philosophy, done by being hijacked by a cult that professes no value other than grievance. Maybe that shows the weakness of it, it being so susceptible to that - but it’s still a loss for the country.
And my other point being - the riots, etc. are not good… What they aren’t are representative of a wider problem that imposes an actual threat to our society and not one worthy of a take-to-the-streets federal response. That’s a narrative being created by the hystericisists on the Right who need to change the subject from Trump’s incompetence, unfairness, and corruption, which is dominating the news and hurting his polling.
That’s all it is - an attempt to exaggerate and scare people. There’s nothing clever or original about it - and my pointing it out isn’t novel. But pointing it out I will, along with calling out the purveyors of such hysteria for the “useful idiots” they are.
