The Dems have set pander to 11. I had to google Kente cloth, but I’m obviously an uncultured swine who doesn’t have one of these in my closet. They’re playing a shrewd game, no doubt about it. The entire reason Barack Obama lost my vote is that he never pandered to me by wearing a sleeveless NASCAR shirt the day after a tornado ripped through some trailer park.
It’s a shame the cameraman had to intrude on this powerful and sincere moment.

To give Biden credit where credit is due, here is a picture of Biden dressing the way he normally does and explaining a rational policy position. It takes real leadership to take a controversial stand like funding police departments, and that’s why Joe Biden is the nominee.
This is beyond amazing. Kente cloth is a typical feature of Ghanaian (Ashanti) culture, with specific patterns denoting clan or social status. I’ve been to Ghana so I’ve had it explained to me, albeit some of the more inconvenient parts were left out.
But here comes the best part - the powerful Ashanti kingdom in modern day Ghana, founded by Osei Tutu in the 17th century grew very rich (the king sat on a golden throne) by selling a sought after merchandise from neighboring territories to Europeans, notably Portuguese and the Dutch. Can you guess what that merchandise was?
So when an African American is wearing Kente patterns, he’s wearing the markings of people who…sold them to white slave traders.
When a white person wears them, it’s even worse.
Because he knows, or people under him know, that appeasing the crazies will only help Trump, again.
I’ve always had a special distaste for white people who feel the need to behave differently around black people. Fake accents especially make me cringe. I doubt Pelosi and Co. put much thought into this beyond…
“Get me something that looks African, but not too African.”
I’m curious to see where all of this kneeling leads to.
I’m trying to figure out what Africa has to do with any of this.
Defunding the police will make things more like Somalia but I don’t think that’s the idea.
Apparently, they were given these by members of the black caucus. It doesn’t make it much better though.
Biden is in a difficult spot. You can go on his website and see all of the terrible policy ideas he already supports, so people are rightfully angry when their terrible policy idea gets left out in the cold.
This isn’t going to sit very well with the Biden voters who support looting a Pep Boys and then setting it on fire, but Biden’s shrewd enough to know that those guys aren’t joining team MAGA anytime soon.
Is one of them Michael Essien?
Yes, all 12 of them.
I want to see Biden actually have to say this himself, rather than a spokesman.
This is what I’m talking about with the inherent problem of running a party that’s a big tent of terrible policy ideas. Abolish the police is knocking on the door, it is new and it is trending upwards. Celebrities, mainstream politicians, actual leaders in government and apparently Drew Brees are all getting on board.
Will Biden kneel in the face of pressure, or stand tall?
That’s what I’m really wondering. What does failure to kneel mean these days, anyway? Where are we headed with that?
Note how actual inner city residents are not asked what they think. This isn’t racism? These are a bunch of useful idiots. The defund the police idea came from outside of the inner city communities and they repeat it as if they are speaking for inner city residents. BLM has as part of its agenda the destruction of the nuclear family in favor of community (communal) parenting. They use the word mother but leave out father when talking about parents. BLM does not represent what most inner city residents believe or want but they have these white people fooled.
Agreed. It’d be one thing if she made her mark bringing down mobsters and corporate cheaters, but she had a reputation for overreaching and picking on the little guy on social issues - so a bully. That’s not the right person to serve as the antidote to the authoritarianism coming out of the WH right now.
I agree with this. To me you want to run the anti-Trump to paint the contrast as much as possible. Well at least how they come off in public speeches and past history. The actual anti-Trump should be easy as you can just run an adult who thinks before speaking and isn’t a reality TV star and career scam artist.
Honestly, I believe that these protests threw Trump a lifeline. However, Trump would have to change his rhetoric somewhat and that’s a no-no in his book.
Should be, but do they want that anti-Trump (a reasonable adult) or the anti-Trump who will pander to the identity politics children who are the very reason why Trump was elected in the first place?
Hearing people say get rid of the cops only reaffirms his base’s idea that the left is full of idiots and weirdos.
It never ceases to amaze me how each side can be their own worst enemy.
They seem to gain some momentum as the result of some issue or event…then “BAM!”…they do or say something completely Ape-Shit crazy.
