The Problem With the Problem of Evil

I await your return with bated breath…

Yeah, because while one may not agree with Trib he was at least civil…unlike you.

I see what I mean:

This is precisely what I mean. You aren’t interested in loving your neighbor, you’re far more interested in damning him. You do so because, while you feign humility, you enjoy the haughtiness of delivering judgment yourself. You can’t wait to get into a contest over scripture because you think you will show them you’re “right”.

You manufacture a makeshift throne and sit on it, handing out condemnation after condemnation for believing “wrong”. Thus, you break the first rule of Christianity.

No amount of pretending to be merely a humble messenger changes that fact that you have now decided you have the capacity to reach judgment on others’ beliefs. But you don’t.

As for me, I’ll stick with the Big Guy on the real throne, and ignore the pretenders.

That’s what you said last time  lol.

But, ya, I dont’ think they’re the same person.

I’m always amused by “Christians” who speak and conduct themselves this way, but fall back on this kind of stuff:

As usual you are a clown. Wrong on most things and I called you out on those things. Don’t like that much do you mister perfect?

Ha!

Exactly the point I was going for as well. Well said. You can’t be the above and be the loving, inviting Christian interested in dialoguing with people and being a good witness. Such attitudes are mutually exclusive.

Yes, it’s a strange “escape hatch” that never works, but they think it does.

I’ll just leave this here:

Hi Tirib,

Almost everything being asked is in the OP.
I think the disconnect I’m having is that this really isn’t true. I don’t see a single question mark in your OP that isn’t issued rhetorically.

I also disagree that there is a discussion to be had because you are clearly quite comfortable dealing in tautologies, as TB stated, and falling back on contradictory premises with some iteration of, “God can do whatever God wants and we just can’t possibly understand.”

I’m also unsure of why, “God works in mysterious ways” doesn’t answer Ron’s question quicker and cleaner; I also wasn’t aware that the philosophical contortions you are attempting to refute are widely promulgated. But, I’m not religious.

In any event, while I’m sure you believe these attempts to be well-intentioned, please know that whatever message you are trying to convey is, to this pagan, irreparably obfuscated by the juggling act of (verbose) typing, Bible thumping, and back-patting. You might be A-OK with that, having punched the clock just as God asked you to, but since Hell is crowded enough as is, I’ll only say that telling people their belief systems are woeful misconceptions built on a foundation of self-exalting, phony, bloodthirsty debauchery simply isn’t the best way to do… whatever it is you’re trying to do.

You might not think that’s your problem, since you’re ostensibly not tasked with actually getting results, but then I think that’s a sad, lazy, and ultimately fruitless way to view your purpose in life.

edit: I’m not even sure if I’d call this thing you’re doing ‘well-intentioned.’ You say you preach from a heart full of love, but will sleep like a baby despite whatever failures you have. Again, all you gotta do is show up. So, you can issue your verbiage as warmly as you’d like, but I can’t shake the chill from what strikes me as a cold, callous, and self-serving endeavor.

This is totally false. When T Nation changed over to the new format and I logged in I became zeb1. So, this demonstrates that you are a liar.

What is “false” about that?

I literally cut and pasted two old quotes from “Mick28” and “Tiribulus” - none of those are my own words.

How does cutting and pasting quotes from two other accounts (one of which we now know was yours) make me a liar?

You are implying that I changed my name from ZEB to Zeb1. I didn’t do that T Nation did.

Also, since we are on a thread that deals with “evil” and Christianity I wonder how forgiving and Christian it is to continually remind someone of their mistake after they have admitted it and said they were sorry for it. It seems that you and your hero Mister Perfect get some sort of thrill continually bringing up the same topic over and over again. Not very Christian like but then again TB never admitting that he’s wrong isn’t very Christian like either.

You can continue to remind me of my mistakes…fair enough but look in the mirror once in a while yourself as you are far from perfect and have violated T Nation rules many times in the past. As has your hero Mister Perfect.

No, he didn’t.

The point is the same. You have no regard for any of the threads and you will interrupt them continually if it means attacking me. You will also bring up my past errors when you are losing a debate. This is how you operate. You call me out on breaking T Nation rules when you do it repeatedly. As does your cohort. And in 14 years you have never once admitted that you were wrong.

Just the other day I proved you wrong on Hillary’s campaign promise to raise taxes. What did you do? You ran away…

This is a hilarious mis-interpretation, and honestly suggestive that perhaps you are guilty yet again, because now you’re frantically trying to deflect for no really good reason (“the lady doth protest too much, methinks”).

I’ve said nothing at all about you :“changing your name from ZEB to zeb1” (other than posting Tiribulus previous quote saying that). I’m merely pointing out that “Tiribulus” and “Mick28” both spoke to “zeb1” in very similar terms (“Hey zeb, long time no see, how did your name change to zeb1, what’s happened to the ol’ forums?”)

Yes AG bring it up again. That is YOU. You have no grace for another person. And when that happens in life you can be sure that there will be NO GRACE for you when you need it most. And I will add that you too have broken T Nation rules many times. But…but…that’s okay because Mister Perfect is my Internet pal.

Seriously, look in the mirror.

And the two of you have no problem hijacking yet another thread just to attack me.

That breaks T Nation rules. Now how many times have you two done that?

I thought I had mentioned this in another thread, but I may not have. Zeb, have you’re in zero position to point out anyone’s supposed rule-breaking, but you still keep trying to do it. There is, literally, nobody posting on the board right now that can hold a candle to what you did.

As we’ve talked about before, both on the forum and via email, you fucked up royally (and that is an understatement). If you’re going to choose to continue posting, you need to wrap your head around the fact that you’re going to take your completely deserved lumps. If you can’t handle that without embarrassingly trying to take the moral high ground, you may need to reconsider your choice.

Pretty sure OJ Simpson doesn’t walk around telling people they’re in no position to discuss his pesky legal trouble because they break the speed limit on the highway.

I could be obtuse and see this as you implying the Mods, or myself, don’t do their job and allow AG to break forum rules. But I’m not that obtuse and that’s simply that case.

No, I didn’t attack you. I merely clarified that, no, AG wasn’t claiming what you said he was claiming. That’s it.
I brought Trib up to speed on why we were musing if he was really you operating via a fraudulent account, as he was in the dark about that. And I did so on facts that are indisputable. Don’t like that those facts exist? Not my problem to fix.
Just the other day I proved you wrong on Hillary’s campaign promise to raise taxes. What did you do? You ran away…

No, you didn’t, as I never took the position that Hillary didn’t promise to raise taxes during her campaign. This is, of course, a lie - one of many - and, as usual, you know it is.
