I have no idea if they are the same person or not, but the totality of the circumstances certainly raises my eyebrow.
As far as this thread goes…
If I’m going to subject myself to the judgement and condescension of a righteous believer who can’t seem to understand why I don’t accept his incoherent writings as the true word of an almighty creator, well, I’d much rather do it in person. It is 70 degrees and sunny today, and there’s no fewer than 3 people feeding pigeons in Kennedy Park who can quote scripture and serve me a word salad on my lunch break.
The problem with the problem of evil is an evil problem about the problem evil. It’s about how god sees the evil problem and makes problems for evil. It’s a problem about the evil problem and the problem is indeed evil.
I don’t see why love, humility, and other Christian virtues are different for men and women. Humility is humility, Christian love is Christian love.
And by #7 I meant to point to back to my post, in which I muse that if Jesus is born with a human mother but without sin, then why don’t we then conclude that men are the transmission of original sin and so shouldn’t we put women in charge of the church?
I also think that trying to convert people to Christianity with passages from the Bible is of limited use. The Bible is only an authority if one is already a Christian. So if someone isn’t a Christian, there are two much better ways to convert them: leading by example (St. Francis) and convincing by reason (St. Thomas Aquinas, CS Lewis).
