My wife has needed a lap top for a while, so I came up with this brillaint plan to go to Best Buy Black Friday morning at 5:00AM when they open and buy one of their $250.00 lap tops they would be selling.
I realize now this was one of the worst plans I have ever came up with.
I was up late Thanksgiving night, so I figured I would stay up all night and go to Best Buy at about 4:30-4:45. So I am driving there at 4:30 and there seems to be a good amount of people on the road, but I didn’t care. I was sining songs about how I was a hero for staying up all night and going to the store first thing at 5:00 AM. I thought I was cool and had the plan.
As I get closer to the store, traffic gets worse. A lot of cars out, and I see several cops. As I approach the parking lot, I notice it is full, and tere are people everywhere. The line from the store was about 3 football fields long. I walk up to the front of the line and ask them what time they got there. They tell me 3:00PM Thanksgiving afternoon.
I figure I would wait in line and throw the dice. I went this far, might as well take a chance. So I wait to get in a few minutes. The area from the back of the line to the store looked like an overnight rock concert, chairs, coolers, trash, blankets, all kinds of crap.
I get in the store, and it is packed more than any store I have been in, ever. I made it to the lap top area, and turned around and left. I think it took me 15 minutes to do that because of the crowd. It was crowded like a concert in there.
There were police hanging around, employees with headphones directing people and barking orders at the crowd, bouncer looking people, random police lights in the parking lot.
From the time I got there to the time I left, I think 30-45 minutes elapsed.
Take this as a warning, if you come up with a plan to go to a store in the morning on Black Friday.
DONT DO IT. IT IS A NIGHTMAR!
