The Passing of Mike Bell

Very sad to hear. I am deeply sorry for the family’s loss.

Man, another ex-pro wrestler dead? And the spotlight of the recent movie makes it so strange/discomforting for so many people in this community.

its somewhat creepy, that just this past weekend I saw Bigger, Stronger, Faster and his father predicted that their gonna find him dead one day, and that he would need a miracle.

So sad, say what you will about addictive personalities…37 is too young.

Truly terrible. My condolences and prayers for the family.

yes

It is really sad to hear. The documentary’s final interview with their dad is quite ominous.

No, it is not disrespectful in ANY way to wonder how a 37 year old man died. That shit’s not supposed to happen.

Silly me. When I see a new topic on the Get A Life forum, I figure it’s free for discussion and speculation. You boys have shown me how wrong I am.

Sometimes it is. Some of us know some of the Bells to varying degrees. It’s a sad situation and random speculation can come across as callous.

It’s sort of like, if you have nothing nice to say…

Sorry to hear the news, nobody deserves that.

Please update this thread when the cause of death is determined. I also just watched B.S.F. and thought the Bell family was full of great people!

Thats really sad.

My condolenses as little as they are go out to the bell family.

Here is an update from the paper back east, appearantly Mike had just finished 60 days sober…

That sucks. I was watching BSF just a week ago or so.

Feel bad for his wife.

I just saw BFS last Saturday.

I’m not trying to be callous, or mean - but his dad called it dead on.

Judging from the movie, Mike seemed to be quite unhappy overall. Combine that with an addictive personality and rehab is pretty much a pipe dream.

Callous, perhaps. But you’re right.
And the fact that Bell was part of a community which shared a basic common interest with many here, it becomes a sad situation.
Had this been a rock musician, actor, or artist of sorts, I wonder if the sentiment here would be the same.

That is why its so messed up. I remember his dad saying that and I thought nah he is strong inside he will over come this. But wow it still blows me away and I am shocked.

A key observation, DB.

We may never know the demons people battle on a daily basis. A strong man is still just a man with fears and feelings at the end of the day. We can’t know anyone’s pain threshold, so to judge a person as weak isn’t fair most of the time. A strong man is one who takes steps headlong into his fears. A weak man is one who dares not.

I went back and watched that last interview with his dad in BSF–really ominous.

I used to be a drug rehab counselor. I saw what recovering addicts went through, and it’s no joke.
