See how these guys think? Everything,s the same and everybody is responsible for everybody in the form of centralized federal oversight. I can almost see the vacuous confused scowl on his face while trying to grasp the distinction between public and private. Because to him, there isn’t one. Not a meaningful one anyway.[/quote]

That is his basic argument here, that because certain things are socialized, therefore, everything can/should be. What he doesn’t care to remember is that anything not specifically delegated to the federal government in the Constitution is RESERVED FOR THE STATES AND THE PEOPLE! Many of those things he mentioned should NOT be controlled by the federal government. HUD? Department of Education? Just 2 things off the top of my head that the fed gov has no business doing (constutitionally speaking of course).

I always forget to talk around the deliberate obtuseness in PWI, so forgive me.

Medicare is working fine at doing exactly what it was intended to do: provide quality health care to retired people over 65 years old.

For a lot of years now whoever was in the WH and Congress have mostly ignored the funding issue and continued to kick the can down the road. I recognize that in the parallel PWI universe this is all Obama’s fault, but it’s something that will be fairly simple to fix, just not very easy politically.

How is it simple to fix?

Ya its good at providing retired people healthcare. Too bad its at the expense of everyone else in America.
